Robins Air Force Base
Located just 14 miles outside of Perry, Warner Robins has a decent selection of places both to stay and dine with your pup, with 11 lodging options and 12 restaurants that at least offer patio dining with your pet. Here, you will also find the Robins AFB Dog Park, where you and your friend can run and play. The park is separated by large and small breed sections; however, please be advised that the park does have breed restrictions that do not allow the following breeds: Pit-bulls (including American Staffordshire Bull Terriers and English Staffordshire Bull Terriers), Doberman Pinschers, Rottweilers, Chows, and wolf hybrids.36

Central Macon
Are you looking for a nice park to play with your four-legged friend? The Ocmulgee Heritage Trail in Macon, GA has 2 sections for taking your dog; the Central City Park and the Amerson Park. Downtown Macon is home to many pet-friendly locations, including restaurants, stores, hotels, and even several events! North Hawkinsville
Located in Hawkinsville, GA, ruffly 21 miles outside of Perry, is the Ocmulgee Wildlife Management Area (WMA). The reserve covers over 15,000 acres and offers several nature trails and scenic views. The WMA also has a lake with canoe access as well as geocaching opportunities. If you and your furry friend are hunting partners and want to work on some bird-dog training, the Ocmulgee WMA has designated areas set up just for this purpose! You will need to bring your hunting license, and other restrictions do apply. Additionally, all dogs must be kept on a leash while enjoying the reserve outside of the designated training areas.12

Lake Blackshear
Cordele is home to the Georgia Veterans State Park. Not only is this a great place to walk your dog, but the state park also has a resort and camping locations on-site that are pet-friendly. Additionally, if you choose to stay at the Lake Blackshear Resort and Golf Club, your first dog is free! Campsites at the state park have accommodations for tents, trailers, and RVs complete with picnic areas and shelters. Dogs must be kept on a 6-foot or shorter leash and are not permitted in historic sites, lodges, group camps, or swimming areas. The Veterans State Park also has a courtesy boat dock as well as over 3 miles of nature trails for you and your pup to enjoy.
