E Hendrix Street
The area around East Hendrix Street includes single-family homes, a church, and some wooded sections. You can head north from here to take a stroll down country roads with your pup. There's a park about three miles to the east that you and Fido can check out. Harmony Park has a baseball diamond, some open field, and a paved walking loop. Take a few laps around the park or play some frisbee with your special pal. Bring along a snack and take a break on one of the benches here. Dogs need to be on a leash. Bring waste bags with you.36

Vandalia
The Vandalia neighborhood includes residential streets, a hospital, and an elementary school. There are peaceful areas here where you can take a walk around the block with your pup. If you're looking for an outdoor adventure, head northeast about 18.7 miles to DePauw Nature Park. There are over ten miles of gravel trails in this 400 acre facility. Come for the day or bring your tent and camp out under the stars. You can bring dogs here as long as they're on a leash and under your control. Make sure you pack waste bags and clean up after your pooch.24

Edgewood
Edgewood is a development of private residences in a wooded area. There are sidewalks here that you can use to go for a daily walk through the neighborhood. A furrific park in the area is Forest Park. This facility includes 49 wooded acres, a golf course, and a walking trail. Hike along the pathway with your canine companion. Take time to admire the historical Chafariz dos Contos Fountainand log cabins. Dogs are welcome to accompany you as long as you keep them on a leash and don't enter any buildings. Bring along waste bags so that you can pick up any droppings.12

Rocky Fork Lake
The community of Rocky Fork Lake is about 14.6 miles north of town. This is a remote neighborhood with some private lakeside estates and an area beach. Take a walk through the woods with your furry friend here. For a special weekend in nature, take your four-footed pal camping at Fallen Rock RV Park & Campground. This facility is just 4.7 miles south of the neighborhood. There are trails, a fishing pond, a dog run, and a creek in the grounds. Dogs are welcome here as long as they're kept under control and on a short leash. You're responsible for cleaning up after your pooch.
