Turkey Creek Meadows

Turkey Creek Meadows is a residential development that's nestled between the area golf course and the high school. The streets here have sidewalks that you can use to go for a walk with your canine pal. There's also a greenway along the southern border of the community. Take Fido for a hike or jog along the Chesapeake and Ohio Greenway. This 1.9-mile one-way path heads southeast from the Innsbrook Country Club, passes through an area park, and ends at Broadway near Lincoln Highway. You may bring dogs on this paved pathway provided that you keep them on a leash and you pick up any droppings.

Foxwood

The Foxwood neighborhood in the southwest corner of town is an area with duplexes and single-family homes. The residential streets are lined with sidewalks, so this is a nice area to take your daily stroll with your pooch. Just south of the neighborhood, you'll find a trailhead for the Erie Lackawanna Trail. Park in the lot off Burr Avenue and go hiking or jogging on this multi-use pathway. The paved rail-trail corridor stretches for almost 18 miles between Crown Point and Hammond. Dogs on a leash can accompany you here if you keep them under your control and pick up after them.

Sodona

Sodona is a development that includes a senior living facility, duplexes, and single-family homes. This populous neighborhood has sidewalks where you and Spot can stretch your legs. When you want to enjoy some green space with your furry pal, head to Forest Hills Park. This small facility has some open space. Play a little frisbee or work on obedience drills with your pooch. Bring a snack and share a picnic in the park. You may bring dogs that are on a leash up to six feet long and under your control. Remember to bring waste bags to clean up any messes.

Prairie Creek

Located just northwest of the Innsbrook Country Club, the Prairie Creek neighborhood includes an elementary school, apartments, and single-family homes. This residential community has quiet streets where you and your fur baby can walk together. When you want to get out and explore nature with your pup, go to Oak Ridge Prairie off Colfax Street. This pawtastic facility has hiking trails that wind around lakes, through prairie and wooded areas, and past a marsh. Dogs that are under your control and on a leash that's no longer than six feet may join you here. Make sure you bring water and waste bags with you.

Lincoln Gardens

Lincoln Gardens is located south of the downtown area and includes an apartment complex and private residences. There are sidewalks here where you and your pooch can take your daily walk. To get out and enjoy some fresh air and exercise with your four-footed friend, head to Hidden Lake Park. This facility, located on Broadway, has a paved pathway that you can use for a walk or jog. Head around the lake with your canine pal, then enjoy an outdoor picnic together. Dogs need to be on a leash and under control at all times. Remember to bring waste bags with you to clean up any messes.
