Book nowI have been married to Travis for 19 years. I have a teenage daughter who loves to play volleyball. I have two dogs, Sadie, a Weimaraner, who is 10 years old, and Bud, a German Shorthaired Pointer, who is 6 years. My dogs and I go on at least 2 walks a day. The neighbors know me as the dog lady. In the summer I enjoy camping, boating, hiking, and biking. In the winter I enjoy snowmobiling and snowshoeing. The dogs are usually along for the ride when possible.

Best Dog Friendly Neighborhoods in Richfield
Richfield
Richfield
Taft Park is a 42-acre green space tucked in the northeastern corner of the city. It features walking trails that will lead you and your pup around a lake, through woods, and past athletic fields, making it a good spot for getting some exercise with Fido. Enjoy the peaceful scenery as you and your pooch take a stroll among nature, and expect to meet some wildlife, such as geese and deer along the way. Taft Park contains several sports facilities including softball fields, basketball courts, and a hockey rink, so parking spots may be hard to find when games are being held.

Take your four-legged pal for a relaxing walk among some of the city's oldest oak trees at Augsburg Park! Located near the Richfield Community Center, this 21-acre site has something for everyone, even furry visitors. Amenities include a small pond, picnic shelters, tennis courts, playgrounds, ice rinks, and a skate park. There's a public library on the park grounds as well. Picnic tables and benches scattered around the site offer several spots to sit, hang out, and dig into a packed lunch. See all of the park's features by following the 0.4-mile walking path, and don't forget to bring mutt mitts for cleaning up after your pupper!
East Richfield
East Richfield
Residents of East Richfield love their neighborhood for being peaceful, walkable, and dog-friendly. It's not hard to see why, as this area is home to four parks where you can walk your doggo daily! Christian Park, which spans 11 acres, has a 0.7-mile paved trail that will lead you and Fido past a playground, picnic shelter, ice rink, and athletic fields and courts. Washington Park, though slightly smaller at 8 acres, is also a great place to stretch your legs thanks to its wide open spaces, walking trail, and sledding hill. The other two parks in this neighborhood are Wilson and Roosevelt.
North Richfield
North Richfield
North Richfield offers three parks for you and Fido to explore: Richfield Lake, Garfield, and Nicollet. Richfield Lake Park, the largest of the three, covers 24 acres and includes a lake that many ducks and geese call home. A paved path encircles the lake, allowing visitors to enjoy a scenic, waterside stroll. After hanging out at Richfield Lake Park, head to Pizza Luce to grab a bite to eat. This casual eatery has a gated sidewalk cafe where you can share an outdoor table and pizza with your best friend. Vegan and gluten-free options are aplenty for diners with dietary preferences or food allergies.
Northwest Richfield

In this neighborhood, you'll find a couple of places where you can eat out with your canine companion in tow. For Egyptian-Mediterranean fare, drop by Aida and tuck into some hummus and falafels in the alfresco dining area. If Chicago-style pizza sounds good, head over to Giordano's and share an outdoor table with your doggo on the gated patio. Both eateries offer vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free menu items. Afterward, swing by the nearby Sheridan Park to burn those calories. Quiet and shady, this 7-acre park has grassy areas and paved walkways that are pawfect for a post-meal stroll with your pooch.
