Whispering Oaks
About 30 minutes from Midland, you and Fido can go have a ball playing together at Barkingham Park! This bark park is located in Reedy Creek Park, right outside the Whispering Oaks neighborhood. There are two separate sections of the park, with one being for small dogs and the other being for large dogs. Water is provided by the park. Locals do warn that it can get very muddy here after a steady rain, so if the weather’s been bad, you might want to have some spare towels in your car. Barkingham might not be a palace, but your dog is sure to feel like a king!

Commonwealth
If you’re looking for somewhere to dine with your dashing dog, head to Charlotte’s Commonwealth neighborhood. It’s about 30 minutes outside of Midland. The best thing about this neighborhood is just how many choices you have. Zada Janes Corner Café serves up delicious soups and sandwiches, while Nova’s Bakery is a carb lover’s idea of Heaven.
