Mount Ulla, North Carolina is named after a city in Ireland. It is a community that is still close to its Irish roots. The community is mostly farmland, but the people here absolutely love their animals. There are six vets in the area, some of which will even come over to where you are if there is an emergency.

While you are here, you simply must stop in and visit Patterson Farm, where you will find fresh produce that is grown right on site. It simply doesn't get any fresher than that! From jams and jellies to ice cream and gifts, you can get it all. They also offer educational tours and classes for families to take together. There's always something fun going on here, so be sure to check what's on when planning your visit.

Sloan Park is another really great stop. There, you will find playground, trails, picnic tables and plenty of space for your whole family to come and have a great time. This is the locals' favorite spot to come and take pictures. You can bring your fur baby to join in on family pictures and enjoy a great day out, as long as you bring a leash. There is so much to do here that you will want to come back again and again!

    #1 Business District

Troutman Rails to Tails is just the right place to walk your dog. The trail walks you through the business district right where the old trail line used to be. The Rails-to-Trails Conservancy has worked hard to preserve this historic site by paving it in asphalt and giving it back to the city, repurposed and beautiful. You will need to keep your dog on his leash while you are playing here. There are also no water fountains, so please remember to bring your water bottle and dish for your pup. And don't forget those doggie waste bags; no one likes a litterbug!
