Located in the Westcliff neighborhood of Salisbury, Precious 9 Memorial Dog Park is a community standard dog park with many loyal patrons. The park is not huge, but it is well tended and well equipped. There are doggie water fountains, free waste bags, and benches for owners to wait for their dog to burn off energy. East Mt Ulla

East Mt Ulla

East Mt Ulla is home to Sloan Park, a great place to take your dog that’s only a 13 minute drive from Cleveland in the small community of Mt Ulla. This park is large, quiet, and great for dogs who don’t love the shouting and crowds of children’s playgrounds. Sloan Park has easy walking paths and plenty of space that’s shaded or covered. Dogs will love the calm, and their humans will love having plenty of places to enjoy lunch or nature right within the park. Dogs must be leashed in the park, and remember to  bring your own water bowls!

Cooleemee

Cooleemee

If your dog is ready for an adventure, leash up and jump in the car for the 15 minute drive to The Bullhole Riverpark in Woodleaf. This place has almost everything that pups need to have a great time! Start with human attractions like grillspots, covered tables, and restroom facilities. Branch out by the water paths and small river beaches that make this park truly exceptional. Water dogs will love the opportunity to rock climb and paddle in the South Yadkin River. Dogs must remain on leash inside the park, but adventurous humans can still take them out to enjoy the river with them!

Mazeppa

Mazeppa

Mazeppa Road Park is in the Mazeppa neighborhood of Mooresville, NC, just a 15 minute drive from Cleveland. This park is a great local asset with several sports fields for local play. There are also open grasslands, picnic expanses, and simple paths that run through the park. What makes Mazeppa Road Park an asset to locals is the fact that it’s open after dark. Several of the play fields are lighted, and the main paths have illumination. This makes it a great spot for people who don’t get off of work in time to take their dog to a park that closes at sunset. It’s never too late to swing by!

Milford Knoll

Milford Knoll

15 minutes from Cleveland is the Milford Knoll neighborhood of Salisbury, NC. Milford Knoll is home to Kelsey Scott Park, a less developed, wide open space that your dog is sure to love. The park’s main feature is its large, meadow like green spaces. As tempting as it is to let your dog off leash here, it’s not a dog park and not fenced! Still, your pup can enjoy all the natural green space to walk and sniff even while on leash. Remember to pack a water bottle for yourself and your pup, as this natural park doesn’t have many water fountains!
