Willson Woods
Directly adjacent to Pelham is Willson Woods in Mount Vernon, an incredibly green and scenic neighborhood to spend some time in. The highlight of the neighborhood is Willson's Woods Park, which is known for being one of the best parks in Westchester County. The park extends out for 23 acres, and is home to a million-gallon pool, a water park, fishing spots, a playground, and paved walking trails. Although dogs do need to be kept on a lead in this park, doggie bags are provided, so all you need to bring with you is some drinking water for yourself and Fido.

Glen Island Gateway
Less than a mile from Pelham is Glen Island Gateway in New Rochelle, and this is where you will find Neptune Island, which is connected to the city via a stone causeway. What your pooch will love most about Neptune Island is Neptune Park, as this spacious park not only boasts gorgeous waterfront views, but also large open grassy areas for Fido to play in. There is also a fishing pier and a dock here, as well as access to Cameron Dock and the adjoining Snarkey Park. While dogs are allowed in all of these areas, they do need to be kept on a lead at all times.

Eastchester
The neighborhood of Eastchester in Bronx is about a mile from Pelham, and is the pawfect area to visit if you are looking for some scenic dog walks. Although this may be quite a high-traffic area, the 35 acre Seton Falls Park takes you away from the chaos of the city, with forests, a bird sanctuary, a man-made waterfall, a playground and winding walking paths. Eastchester also provides access to the 2772 acre Pelham Bay Park, which is famous for being the largest public park in New York City. From a golf course and an equestrian center to a sandy beach and hiking trails, this park really does seem to have it all.

New Rochelle
The New Rochelle neighborhood of New Rochelle is about one and a half miles from Pelham, and boasts a couple of pawtastic parks. With its playground, picnic areas, open grassy spaces and waterfront views, the Hudson Park and Beach is always fun to spend some time in, and has a paved walking path to take you and Fido through the park. Also in this neighborhood is Faneuil Park, which is a smaller neighborhood park with a playground and picnic tables. Dogs are welcome to enjoy both of these parks with their owners, so long as they are kept on a lead at all times. Don't forget to also bring some doggie bags and drinking water with you.

Stonelea
Just over two miles from Pelham is the neighborhood of Stonelea in New Rochelle, where you will find a couple of pawsome dog-friendly activities. Begin with a walk along the paved trails that meander through Stephenson Park, showcasing everything from the park's playground and sports facilities to its spectacular flower garden. There are several benches dotted around the park, which are pawfect for a short rest to soak up your scenic surroundings. Once you and Fido have walked up an appetite, head on over to the dog-friendly Tzatziki Greek Grill. There are two outdoor tables where you and Fido can dine together here, sampling the restaurant's authentic Greek specialties.
