Nestled on the peninsula with easy access to the water, the town has an amazing place where your pooch will have a blast – Larchmont Dog Beach on Park Avenue. Depending on the tide, the area can be a little bit smaller than you would expect, but there's still plenty of room here for a quick, refreshing dip in the company of other four-legged visitors! The drive to this furrific beach park will take approximately 25 minutes.

Located about 22 miles northeast of Bronxville, Harrison is a town-village in Westchester County, NY. Ranked sixth on the list of the top 10 places to live in New York State, this cozy hamlet has plenty of places to visit and see! You can start with some off-leash playtime at Harrison Dog Park. This is a small but well-shaded spot with a fence and some room to run, but don't expect too many visitors, and bring your own water with you. Craving a sweet treat? Head to Carvel Ice Cream on Halsted Avenue, known for their uniquely shaped ice cream cakes and outdoor seating with umbrellas.

Van Cortland Park in The Bronx is truly something! Hidden between the Woodland Heights and North Riverdale neighborhoods, this green heaven features a huge shaded area with sports fields, walking trails, dog parks and more! The park even has a museum. There are multiple walking paths here which you can explore with your leashed pup. The park is also home to a golf course, a playground for kids, and even a barbecue area! Make sure to wear your buddy out at one of the two dog runs. Canine Court can be found to the east, featuring a grassy fenced area and an obstacle course. Dog Bone Run is another dog-friendly place to the south, with an enclosed area and gravel instead of grass. This dog run isn't usually crowded, making it pawfect for shy pups.

Spuyten Duyvil is a middle-class neighborhood in The Bronx that's packed with dog-friendly places and recreation facilities. Start your adventures at Henry Hudson Park, a public green spot with a sufficient shaded area and walking trails for on-leash walks. There is also a small but very conveniently located dog run where pooches can finally have a blast off-leash. If you want to give your pup some freedom, head to Seton Dog Park. This is a great spot to let your mutt loose to play fetch and sniff out some new buddies. However, bring your own water with you, as none is provided here. Still not enough? There's another public park with a dog run located almost across the street! Ewen Park has a well-developed network of walking trails and a simple dog run with agility equipment.

Set at the northern tip of Manhattan Island, Inwood is a neighborhood in the New York City borough of Manhattan. Inwood Hill Park, occupying the northern part of the neighborhood, has shaded walking trails that are perfect for a quick walk. Inwood Hill Park Trail is an easy 2-mile hike through the beautiful nature of the park. Need more exercise? Head to the fenced dog run for some off-leash playtime and socialization! Explore the park to find a small pond surrounded by grass and seating. You'll need to bring your own water and doggie waste bags with you to keep this park as clean as pawssible.
