Esser Road

Old No. 9 Trail in Boerne is only ten miles from Bergheim. Load your dog into the car and take a short trip to check out this installment of the Rails-to-Trails' conservation efforts. You will pass over the original rail trestle that is now a footbridge. Your dog will love this trail because it has dog water fountains throughout the trail. The entire trail is paved, including the parking area. There is a full rest area for the humans' comfort. There's only one rule here: keep your dog on a leash at all times. Oh, and be sure to clean up after your furry friend -- no one likes a litterbug!

City Park Road

Cibolo Nature Center & Farm is a nonprofit park located right in the heart of Boerne. Just ten miles is what separates you from this pawesome place! This 160-acre natural space has been around since the 1850s. Some of the trails are very clearly marked so that you can travel them easily. There are other trails that are not quite as obvious, and offer you a true taste of adventure. The best part is that the nature center hosts many dog-friendly events where you can bring your whole family for a great daycation. There are restrooms and some water, but you may want to bring your own water and waste bags just in case.

Upper Cibolo Creek

Pizza! Tacos! Beer! Really, do you need any other information than that? Oh yeah, and free live music! All the necessities of life are right here in Boerne, just ten miles from you. The Random Beer Garden is exactly what it sounds like. You'll get to taste authentic Texas brews from all over the state. If you're looking for something a little more substantial than beer, head to the nearby food trucks, which offer virtually any food that you could want! If your dog can handle the loud music, you should definitely bring him along to join you while you and your friends have an epic night.

Main Street

Everyone loves fall-off-the-fork, melt-in-your-mouth barbecue, especially your carnivorous canine! That's why you should bring your dog the ten miles over to Texas Meat Co.  They have full plates of deliciousness that you can share with your dog. If you don't want barbecue, go for the nachos or the tacos. They even have chicken fried oysters and shrimp po' boys that the locals claim that you can't get anywhere else. Your hound is welcome to chow down with you at the outdoor tables.

Downtown Boerne

Once you've had a meal at one of Boerne's many dog-friendly restaurants, head into downtown to satisfy your sweet tooth! The Kelani Yogurt Stand is a pet-friendly place to get a sweet treat. The topping bar is simply huge. You can get an array of toppings, like mango and coconut to celery and cucumber. The not-so-healthy choices are available, too, like chocolate chips and candy pieces. The menu has a list of sports team inspired shakes that you can get to-go -- what better way to root for your favorite team on game night? Or, make this your breakfast stop and grab a breakfast smoothie on your way to work.
