The Phil Hardberger Dog Park is a 1.5-acre off-leash park with a big dog section and a small dog section. Open seven days a week from 7:30 AM to sunset, Phil Hardberger Bark Park also has drinking water for dogs, waste disposal items, and dog wash stations. Your dog can also join you on the trails and other areas of the park when they're wearing their leash.

Uptown Central (Uptown Loop)

Another one of San Antonio's superb dog parks that's less than 20 miles from Bulverde is the McAllister Dog Park in Uptown. This 1.5-acre off-leash park has big and small dog sections, and there's also agility equipment set up throughout the park so your dog can show off for their friends. The mulch surface at the park makes it easy to clean up after your pet, and visitors love how well-maintained McAllister Dog Park is. McAllister Dog Park is open every day from 5 AM to 11 PM, and it's free to use. There are water fountains, waste disposal supplies, seating, and shade in the park for your convenience and comfort.

Alamo Heights

Alamo Heights is a beautiful neighborhood in central San Antonio with historic homes and other attractions. This area is also home to the Bark Park of Alamo Heights, and it's less than a half-hour drive from Bulverde. This natural off-leash park has all sorts of trees for your pooch to sniff, and there's also a swimming area in the middle of the park. The Bark Park of Alamo Heights doesn't separate dogs by size, so your massive doggo will get to meet tiny pups during their visit. There are two water fountains for dogs as well as several stone benches for pet parents.

West New Braunfels, Texas is 20 miles from Bulverde, and it's where you'll find the New Braunfels Puppy Playland. This off-leash park is open daily from dawn to dusk, and it has a big dog section and a small dog section. The park takes up about half an acre of land, and it has different areas for big and small dogs. Some of the park's additional features include seating, shade, water fountains, and waste disposal supplies. Schertz Dog Park is free to use, and it's open daily from dawn to dusk.
