Situated two hours southwest of Fort Worth, the quaint town of Comanche is perfect if you are looking for a quiet place to live with Fido and your family. Taking care of your pup’s medical needs is easy in Comanche. There are two qualified veterinarian clinics in town offering routine appointments and emergency services.
When you and Fido need some exercise, head over to Lake Eanes Park where you can enjoy the water and the open spaces. Mercer Creek is a great place to stroll with your pups while they sniff the grass or get their feet wet. There are stone picnic tables if you need a snack, and you can relax on benches along the lake. Fido can have a pawsome time digging in the dirt or laying under a shade tree.
If you need a pooch-friendly place to stay while visiting Comanche, the Breezy Hill RV Park provides friendly neighbors and plenty of grass to walk your pup. There are a variety of camping sites where you can grill up some burgers and enjoy the peace and quiet.
Another fun campground is Copperas Creek on Farm to Market Road. The shaded campsites are perfect for pups and you have access to the lake. There is a pavilion with picnic tables, so invite your family and friends and their furry pals for a fun afternoon.
Americas Best Value Inn is also available if camping isn’t your idea of fun. The hotel welcomes pets for an additional fee – just be sure to call for a reservation in advance.
When searching for some peace and tranquility, Comanche is a great little town with open spaces where you can spend time with furry family members. You can also travel short distances and explore nearby towns and parks with your furtastic friend.
The Comanche City Park is a wonderful place to take your pooch and the family. There are well-manicured gardens where your pooch can sniff and smell, and you can walk along the path through the trees and grass. Pack a picnic lunch and some treats for Fido, and spend the day with the kids and your furry family members. You can dispose of doggie waste bags near the restrooms, and the kids will have a great time on the playground. Be sure to keep your pup on a leash as there is a variety of wildlife roaming the area.
If you enjoy camping, there are several campgrounds in Comanche. Little Star RV Park offers large pads for your RV with plenty of shade. You can walk around the grounds with your pup on their leash. There are nice picnic tables available, and plenty of grassy areas where your pup can run and play. You might also want to take Fido over to Promontory Park. This beautiful area is great for a leisurely stroll with your pup where you can admire views of Proctor Lake. Be sure to bring your own doggie waste bags and clean up after Fido.
Just 15 minutes northeast of Comanche, the Sowell Creek Park is in the town of Dublin. The park includes a campground where you can park your RV and go fishing in the Lake. The campsites have covered picnic tables, and you and Fido can hang out in the shade and watch the activities on the water. When hiking through the area, you will see a variety of trees and plants, and your pup can have a snifftastic time rolling in the grass or splashing in the water. If Fido is feeling energetic, head over to High Point Park just 2 miles from the campground. You can hike along 10 miles of trails and get some exercise.
About 20 minutes southwest of Comanche, City Park on Old May Road in the town of Early is a great place to spend some time with the kids and dog. Pup parents often plan birthday parties and family get-togethers at the park, so furry family members aren’t left at home. There are ball fields where the kids and pups can play, and a large pavilion with picnic tables where you can enjoy lunch. The playground is near the restrooms, and you and your pooch can stroll around the area and watch the kids. Be sure to dispose of your doggie waste bags in the convenient trash receptacles.
Lake Brownwood State Park is about 30 miles from Comanche, but is well worth the time to visit. The park is clean and inviting, and provides acres of open space where you can hike with your pup. If you enjoy boating, take Fido out for a ride and enjoy the breeze off the water. There is a large playground where the kids can get rid of some excess energy, and the clean restrooms are convenient to the parking lot. Gather up the family for a hike along one of the many trails and let Fido have a pawtastic time in the wilderness area.
