The Comanche City Park is a wonderful place to take your pooch and the family. There are well-manicured gardens where your pooch can sniff and smell, and you can walk along the path through the trees and grass. Pack a picnic lunch and some treats for Fido, and spend the day with the kids and your furry family members. You can dispose of doggie waste bags near the restrooms, and the kids will have a great time on the playground. Be sure to keep your pup on a leash as there is a variety of wildlife roaming the area.

Northeast Comanche
If you enjoy camping, there are several campgrounds in Comanche. Little Star RV Park offers large pads for your RV with plenty of shade. You can walk around the grounds with your pup on their leash. There are nice picnic tables available, and plenty of grassy areas where your pup can run and play. You might also want to take Fido over to Promontory Park. This beautiful area is great for a leisurely stroll with your pup where you can admire views of Proctor Lake. Be sure to bring your own doggie waste bags and clean up after Fido.

Dublin
Just 15 minutes northeast of Comanche, the Sowell Creek Park is in the town of Dublin. The park includes a campground where you can park your RV and go fishing in the Lake. The campsites have covered picnic tables, and you and Fido can hang out in the shade and watch the activities on the water. When hiking through the area, you will see a variety of trees and plants, and your pup can have a snifftastic time rolling in the grass or splashing in the water. If Fido is feeling energetic, head over to High Point Park just 2 miles from the campground. You can hike along 10 miles of trails and get some exercise.

Old May Road
About 20 minutes southwest of Comanche, City Park on Old May Road in the town of Early is a great place to spend some time with the kids and dog. Pup parents often plan birthday parties and family get-togethers at the park, so furry family members aren’t left at home. There are ball fields where the kids and pups can play, and a large pavilion with picnic tables where you can enjoy lunch. The playground is near the restrooms, and you and your pooch can stroll around the area and watch the kids. Be sure to dispose of your doggie waste bags in the convenient trash receptacles.

Lake Brownwood
Lake Brownwood State Park is about 30 miles from Comanche, but is well worth the time to visit. The park is clean and inviting, and provides acres of open space where you can hike with your pup. There is a large playground where the kids can get rid of some excess energy, and the clean restrooms are convenient to the parking lot.
