Midland Texas is geographically located in the middle of the Permian Basin, which is recognized for the containment of rich oil and natural gas reserves. The city is also known for its downtown skyline hence it was nicknamed Tall City.

Main Street Market is an incredible one-stop establishment that has shops, restaurants, street groceries and a gas station. In addition to those, it also has a dog park, complete with separate areas for dogs of different sizes, water and waste stations. What more can you ask for?

If your dog needs more space to run around, you can bring him to Hogan’s Dog Run. The expansive 5-acre dog park has agility equipment, water fountains, waste bags and small dog area. Only dogs four months old and older with complete vaccinations are allowed in the park. Remember not to go on Mondays, because the park is closed for maintenance.

No movie date? No problem, bring your loving pup to Big Sky Drive – In. They’re open seven days a week from 7 PM. Any vehicles are allowed in the movie drive – in such as RVs, Campers and church buses. Dogs are welcome except in the concession area. They must also be leashed if brought outside the vehicle.

    Tanglewood is home to Hogan’s Run Dog Park, a Midland institution and fun zone for dogs. Hogan’s Run is fully stocked with everything dogs need to have a good time. First, there are separate areas for large and small dogs so everyone can find the playmates they need. Secondly, each side has an agility course! On top of all of that, they also have doggie sized water fountains. In the summer, the area has splash pools so dogs can cool off from the hot sun. Whatever your dog needs to have a good time, from room to roam to doggie friends to water, this park has it.

    Main Street Market in Mustang Industrial Park in Midland is an odd place to go. You may feel like you’re in the wrong place, but keep going! Past the Ace Hardware, Main Street Groceries, and RV Park is a real, actual, off leash dog park! It’s small, but fully fenced. It’s the perfect place to take a break from a road trip and stretch your dog’s legs. The area is divided for use by large and small dogs, and there are pet waste stations and water fountains in the park, perfect for cooling off after burning off some energy.

    Beal Wagging Tail Off Leash Dog Park is a great place to unwind in Westridge. Located within the larger Beal Park, this dog park is a great place to sniff out fun times and run around. The park offers a shaded picnic area for longer play sessions, water fountains for dogs, and lots of room to roam. There are separate areas depending on dog size, so your pup will be able to play appropriately. When your dog is tired of running free, leash up and head into Beal Park. There’s a paved walking path that loops around the park and is sure to wear your excited pup out!

Whether your dog is shy, iffy about recall off leash, or you just don’t have time to head to one of Midland’s off leash parks, Windlands Park is a great resource. It’s large, with several areas for sports and simple grassy spaces. You can walk laps around the park to quickly burn off energy, or make sure your dog gets his daily exercise.
