Just six miles from Reese Center, this neighborhood’s Alex and Verna Cooke Park is a pawsitively furrific place to stroll with your dog! You and your furry friend will love making a few laps on the park's .37-mile paved path that loops around the perimeter. In the center of the park, there’s a playground where kiddos can get some exercise, too! There’s also a covered picnic area and benches. Nearby, you and your pooch can enjoy a bite to eat at Taphouse 16 where there are pet-friendly tables outside.

4th and Frankford

You and your furry friend will have a ball discovering the pawsome parks in Lubbock’s 4^thand Frankford neighborhood, about six miles from Reese Center! The neighborhood’s largest park, Lopez Park, is a green space with lots of grass where you and your leashed pooch can romp. The park’s open field is a furrific spot for playtime, training or to spread out a blanket and soak up some rays. The park also has a paved walking path around the perimeter with a few trees and shrubs along the way. Kids will love exploring the playground, and there’s also a picnic pavilion. Just a couple blocks away, you and Fido will find more fun at West Wind Park.

West End Place

Check out two of Lubbock’s puptacular parks in the West End Place neighborhood, about six miles from Reese Center! McAlister Park is a big open green space where leashed dogs are welcome. You and Fido can stretch your legs in the open grassy area and there’s also a quiet pond that adds to the relaxing ambiance. Just a few blocks away, you and your pup can also visit Dr. Armando Duran Park! There’s a paved walking path, grass, trees, a playground and a picnic pavilion. After your jaunt, reward yourself with a visit to Crave, a dessert bar where pups are welcome on the patio.

You’ll find a dog walker’s delight in Lubbock’s 15^thneighborhood! About eight miles from Reese Center, this neighborhood is home to the Frank Higinbotham Park, a woofderful place to exercise with your leashed pup! This large park’s .7-mile pathway is a pawpular spot for walkers and joggers. The walkway winds around the perimeter of the park, weaving in and out of trees and taking your and your pooch next to a big, sparkling pond with statuesque cypress trees growing in it. It’s a great place for bird watching, too! There are doggie waste cleanup stations along the path, a basketball court, a playground, and tons of open grass at this pawsome park.

Bowie

There’s a pawsitively lovely park just eight miles from Reese Center in Lubbock’s Bowie neighborhood! George Mahon Park is a large community green space with tons of room to take your leashed pooch for a jaunt! This beautiful grassy park has lots of mature trees where you and your pup can chill out in the shade, plus tennis, basketball and volleyball courts! There’s also a large playground where children can frolic, and picnic tables dispersed throughout the park.
