College Park
College Park is the southeastern neighborhood of the beautiful city of Clovis, New Mexico. This small neighborhood is home to the Hillcrest Dog Park where your dog will roll and scratch his way to a nap in the car. Just down the road is the Ned Houk Memorial Park. This park is larger than Hillcrest and has its own manmade lake. Make sure you have some towels in your car once your pup has worn himself out and is ready for nap number two in the backseat! At both parks, you will want to have plenty of water for both of you to beat that New Mexico heat!

Grady
Grady is a small, unincorporated community just outside of Clovis. If you are looking for a sleepy little town to hang your hat and get away from the hustle and bustle of busier cities like Clovis, you will appreciate the simplicity that Grady has to offer. The village is home to many dogs and humans, so you will fit right in! Make sure you have easy access to your waste bags, as most of this town is residential and there aren’t many public sidewalks in these parts. The homes here have a few acres surrounding them, so don’t be discouraged if you don’t make friends right away!

Farwell
Farwell is just 16 minutes from Clovis in the unique city of Texico. A place that lives up to its name, this town right on the border of Texas and New Mexico is a fun place to stop for a stretch along your travels. The town has a large green space in the center if you are looking for a relaxing picnic spot. The local Stripes gas station has some of the tastiest New Mexican cooking for miles. Your pup will love the sights and smells of this special place, so bring on the heat and don’t forget the leash!

Friona
This Texas town is about 30 minutes from Clovis. Whether you are on your way to or from Clovis, this town has just a little bit of everything if you need a place to stop and smell the flowers. Reeve Field is an open public green space where you two can walk or relax and enjoy a little time in the sun. Just be careful to lather on that sunscreen and bring your own shade in case your dog needs a break from the heat. Just down the road is City Park, where you can enjoy an on-leash stroll with your best fur-iend!
Fort Sumner
Fort Sumner is about an hour away from Clovis. It is a great spot if you are looking for South Western charm and heritage. Home to the Billy the Kid Museum and minutes away from the Bosque Rodundo Park, you will love walking through this town with your favorite furry pal next to you. While he may not care for the museum scene, he will be sure to appreciate a quick dip in the Pecos River. The streets here have small green spaces where you can roll around and picnic in peace. If the growling you hear is coming from your stomach, it may be time to head to the local Phillips 66 for a grab-and-go meal for two.
