Gateway Park
Fort Worth, Texas is just 20 miles south of Roanoke, and if you make the drive, you and your pup will be rewarded with a super-fun visit to the Fort Woof Dog Park at Gateway Park! Not only does it have a great name, but it's also a great dog park with everything you and your dog could ever want. This park has separate sections for big and small dogs, water spigots, picnic tables, and plenty of doggy waste clean up stations. Fort Woof is Fort Worth's dog park, and it did not disappoint the community! Another favorite feature of the park is the obstacle course where excited pups can burn off extra energy.36

North Grapevine
Southlake, Texas has a population of over 30,000, and it is only a ten-minute drive from Roanoke. Southlake has been ranked one of the wealthiest cities in America, and it is made up of many beautiful homes, churches, parks, and sports facilities. One of Southlake's largest parks is called Bob Jones Park, and within Bob Jones, there's a dog park called BooBoo's Buddies. This pawesome park has separate big and small dog sections, and BooBoo's Buddies also has a bunch of trees that provide you and your dog with much-needed shade during those long, hot Texan summers.24

Central Lewisville
Lewisville, Texas is less than a half-hour drive from Roanoke, and it has an excellent dog park in the middle of the town that you and your pooch will fall in love with! The Railroad Dog Park is certainly spacious, with over six acres of land to explore. There's a five-acre side for large breed dogs and another one-acre reserved for small breeds. Both sections have covered seating areas to keep human visitors cool and protected from the hot sun, as well as waste disposal stations, dog wash stations, and even obstacle and agility equipment.12
