Pace Park is mostly used for fun family gatherings on the picturesque pavilion, but there is so much for barking besties to do here. The lush grounds provide a beautiful setting for walks, and there’s plenty to sniff out and explore. This park is also home to spectacular Salado Creek, the perfect place to dip paws in the summer months. This park has history, too, and you and Fido can see ruts from wagon wheels imbedded into the limestone creek that date back to a time when the main street was part of the Chisholm Trail.

Salado Plaza Drive
Salado Plaza Drive, just north of Salado, is home to the village sculpture park. Salado Sculpture Garden features awe-inspiring and accessible works of art from the talented locals, and you really couldn’t ask for a better place to go on some wondrous walkies with man’s best friend. The meandering path is easy to follow and ensures you don’t miss any of the incredible pieces, but you can venture off-road and take a self-guided wander through this scenic spot. With a backdrop like this, you can play pupperazzi and snap some pics of your pooch looking pawsitively fetching in front of some breathtaking creations, or sit and pawnder the beauty of it all over a picnic in the grass. While you get lots of laps here, be sure to bring water and waste bags with you.

South West Harker Heights
Take the short twenty-minute drive to Harker Heights and follow Mountain Lion Road to Purser Family Park, and you and your darling dog have the pawfect day ahead of you! This park has many picnic areas for packed puppy lunches, a sparkling stream flowing through the grounds, and a playground for all to enjoy. Not only does Purser Family Park have wooded walking trails for stretching some furry legs, there is an off-leash dog park on-site, too! This dog park has separate spots for smaller dogs and has ample dumping stations and a water fountain. Purser Family Park is the stuff that doggy dreams are made of!

Stillhouse Hollow Lake
The Lampasas River cuts through the Chalk Ridge Falls Park in Belton and makes for a stunning spot for a stroll. This wooded wonderland covers an expanse of nature, and you’d be barking mad to miss out on all the oppawtunities for furry fun on offer here! There’s at least 5 miles of roaming room, and whether you follow the tremendous trails or not, there’s so much to see. There’s a suspension bridge to cross, but it has been known to get a bit wobbly, so be mindful of your marvelous mutt when taking the trek across! The main path leads you to a whimsical waterfall with plenty of places to take a cooling doggy dip!

Looking for a no-bones-about-it great day with your precious pooch? It’s just a short spin to Lions Park in Temple, and a journey you certainly won’t regret! This huge park has three playgrounds, baseball and soccer fields, and disc golf courses. There’s a walking trail for leashed loops around the park, and best of all? An off-leash dog park for Fido to make furever friends in! Central Texas Bark Park has separate areas for the tiniest Terrier and largest Leonberger, and although there isn’t much shade, there’s a water fountain to help keep your canine cool. You can even make a donation to engrave your dog's name on a bone-shaped brick on the premises!
