Mill Point
Mill Point is a small neighborhood with an active and outgoing community. The neighborhood is not only covered with scenic trails for walks anytime of the day, but also plays host to Mill Point Park. This luscious green area is fed by Hampton River and has numerous walkways to ensure a unique experience every time you go. The park isn’t fenced in, so remember to keep your pup on a leash at all times for everyone’s safety. Numerous shade trees keep the trails cool and pleasant to walk on. Remember to bring some water so you and your pup can stay hydrated!36

Grandview Island
Look no further than Grandview Island for an amazing dog friendly community. This lovely neighborhood has a two and a half mile trail that leads across a beautiful sandy beach. It takes about a half mile walk to actually reach the beach, so be sure to plan accordingly. Dogs are permitted on leash anytime during the off season, and anytime before ten am or after six pm from May to September. As this is a nature preserve, the floor of the waters can be rough, so be careful where you step if you decide to take a dip in the water.

Cavalier
Cavalier is a gorgeous area right up against the Hampton River. Aside from hosting an active and fun loving community, this neighborhood is also the home of Ridgway Park. Surrounded by small lakes on either end, this park is the ideal lush area for strolls through a scenic natural environment. For dogs with a lot of energy, visit the Ridgeway Dog Bark Park. This fenced in area allows dogs to roam off leash and make new friends. A license and tags are required to access the park, so make sure you bring them with you when you go. Your pup is sure to have a blast!

Watkins
For a dog friendly area with plenty to do, Watkins is the place to be. This area plays host to Sandy Bottom Nature Park, a vast natural expanse with a plethora of activities. Dotted with rivers and lakes, the numerous walking trails in this park will take you along unique scenic routes that are sure to be enjoyable every time you go down them. Best of all for pups is the Sandy Bottom Bark Park, a fenced in area that’s built just for dogs and dog owners. All dogs have to be registered to enter this park, so remember to bring your animal registration license and proof of vaccinations. While this is an off leash, the surrounding Sandy Bottom Nature Park is not, so be sure to keep your pup leashed outside the dog park!

Downtown Hampton
Downtown is a bustling area with an active and outgoing community. Along Southwest Branch Back River is Air Power Park, a lush green area with plenty of space to roam. Located off Marsh Loop is a local trail that winds around a shimmering lake, offering a beautiful area to take a stroll anytime during the day. To the south is Old Hampton Community Park, another green spot with gorgeous scenery and tons for your pup to explore. Remember to keep your dog leashed at all times, as none of these spots are fenced in. Whatever your choice of park or trail, your pup is guaranteed to have a blast!
