Situated in the central portion of the state of Vermont, the small town of West Rutland has a long history which revolved around the manufacturing of marbles. The town now offers residents an affordable place to live, and visitors a warm and friendly environment. And there are 2 veterinarians in the nearby town of Rutland City in case your pup is ever in need of care.
Your fur-ever friend will be thrilled when you head to the West Rutland Dog Park inside the West Rutland Recreation Area! Here you will find separate large and small dog sections, all of which are fenced. Fido can lead the pack around large, grassy areas that offer shade to cool down. Benches are provided, which conveniently convert into picnic tables. All you need to bring is water because clean up stations are on site!
Afterwards, visit the West Rutland Marsh, where you and your pawtastic friend can hike on their marked trail and cross the boardwalk. There are information stations along the path which highlight this critical habitat for migrating birds.
