Northeast Evansville

If your pooch enjoys long walks in the wilderness, then Northeast Evansville will definitely keep Fido happy. This is where the Evansville Wildlife Area is located, which consists of 707 acres of natural diversity. There are so many precious habitats here, home to a wide range of animal and plant life, so be sure to keep your pup on a lead at all times in order to not disrupt these delicate ecosystems. For another pawtastic walk, Wind Prairie Park can also be accessed from this neighborhood. This is another passive park with plenty of natural features, along with trails that are well-maintained during the summer months.

W Main St

There are a couple of pawriffic parks worth checking out in the W Main St neighborhood. The first is Brzezinski Park, which is a small, but beautifully landscaped park, home to grassy lawns and mature trees. Not too far away from here is access to West Side Park, where you will find 25 acres to explore, making this pawfect for a longer walk. The park is home to several sports facilities, as well as a playground, multiple picnic areas, and paved walking paths for you and Fido to follow. Dogs are allowed in both parks, but you will need to keep your pooch on a lead, and don't forget to bring some doggie bags and drinking water with you too.

Southeast Brooklyn

About a mile from Evansville is the neighborhood of Southeast Brooklyn in Brooklyn, and there are some pawtastic walks to be found here. The best place to experience this area's natural beauty is at the Harvey's Marsh Waterfowl Production Area, which allows dogs so long as they are kept on a lead. Rather than being an official park, this is a hunting ground, and there are plenty of flat trails to follow, as well as several rare bird and plant species living here. One thing to keep in mind is that the area is home to a population of coyotes, making it even more important to keep Fido close to you at all times.
