Sarona
Sarona is a small village in northwest Wisconsin with single-family homes, farms, a church, and a feed mill. You and Fido can enjoy walks along quiet country lanes here. When you want to explore nature with your special pal, head about 4.4 miles east to the Hunt Hill Audobon Sanctuary. This pawesome preserve includes a variety of habitats and wildlife. There are 13 miles of natural-surface trails that are open for public use. Wander through bogs, forest, and meadows with your canine companion. Dogs are welcome to join you as long as you keep them on a leash and clean up after them.36

Shell Lake
About 8.4 miles west of Sarona, you'll find the community of Shell Lake. This lakeside neighborhood includes private residences, the area high school, a health care center, and some businesses. Take some time to wander through the Monarch Butterfly Habitat located here. Spend a night by the water with your canine pal at the Shell Lake Municipal Campground. The lakeside facility has RV hook-ups, pull through sites, a public boat landing, and a dock. Dogs are permitted in the campground and park but not the beach area. Keep your pooch on a leash that's no longer than ten feet and pick up his waste.24

Beaver Brook
Beaver Brook is a small rural community located about 3.8 miles north of Sarona. There are private country estates and farms here. Take Spot for a daily walk down wooded roads in the area. For an outdoor adventure, head to the Beaver Brook Wildlife Area. There's a public access parking lot off Highway 53 just 2.6 miles north of the village. Hike along the cross-country trails and wander along the brook. Bring your pole and fish for trout. Dogs are permitted to join you, but they must be on-leash if you visit between April 15 and July 31. Bring water and waste bags with you.12

Rocky Ridge/Elm
The neighborhood around Rocky Ridge and Elm Street in Spooner is a wooded residential area with single-family homes and a middle school. There are peaceful lanes here where you and your furry friend can take a daily stroll together. If you want to get away with Spot, head to Highland Park Campground, just three miles east of here. This lovely facility has RV sites on Cyclone Lake. Bring your boat and enjoy the day on the water with your special pal, then finish your day by the fire ring. Dogs are welcome to join you as long as you keep them on a leash.
