Lehiwa Dr/ Meheula Pky
Mililiani is a small community just a few miles south of Schofield Barracks that is a must-visit for doggos and their owners. Mililiani Dog Park is definitely the highlight with a large, fenced area for off-leash play. It is located inside the Mililiani Mauka District Park on Ukuwai Street, with plenty of parking at the Park and Ride lot. There are benches, trees, and a nice doggy drinking fountain. The Mililiani Ravine Park is also just a block away with great dirt walking trails for an on-leash adventure. With a pup-friendly Starbucks right between the two parks, this is the most happening spot for tail-wagging!

Wahiawa Town Center
The nextdoor town of Wahiawa is another haven for dog fur-riendly outdoor fun. Start your day with breakfast or brunch for everyone at Sunny Side Incorporated on Kilani Avenue, then you can walk off that bacon right next door in the Wahiawa District Park and Botanical Gardens. The District Park has plenty of open grass with restroom facilities, benches, and water fountains, while the Botanical Gardens has a beautiful, on-leash walking trail that features all of the local flora and fauna. You can easily spend the full day enjoying all the sights and smells of this Wahiawa neighborhood.

Haleiwa
On the northwestern shore of the island is the small town of Haleiwa that is packed full of great food and fun for you and Fido. There are eight restaurants right on Kamehameha Highway through town that will happily seat you and your four-legged friend on their outdoor patios. With Mexican cuisine at Cholo’s Homestyle Mexican, seafood at the Camaron Shrimp Wagon, and treats at Waialua Bakery, Scoop of Paradise, and Matsumoto Shave Ice, there is something for every taste and mood. After you’ve filled up in town, head out to the beach for the Kaiaka Bay Trail or Pua'ena Point Beach Park for some easy hiking. What a pup-tastic day!

Wheeler Army Airfield
Just next door to Schofield Barracks, you’ll find Wheeler Army Airfield and the Wheeler Dog Park. The park is located on Strieber Avenue where Haley Avenue ends. The Eagle Scouts worked with community organizers to create this fenced park that has shady trees and benches for you to sit back and watch all of the tail-wagging fun and socialization. There is also agility equipment to put your pup through his exercise paces. Bring your own water and pick-up bags for a fun day of play. The park is very near the airfield runways, so be aware if your pup is scared of loud noises.

Waianae Homesteads
Along the west coast of O'ahu, you’ll find the small beach town of Waianae. This is another perfect spot to enjoy some delicious food and amazing beach views. On your way down to the beach, stop at the Kahumana Organic Farm and Café on Lualualei Homestead Road for a healthy, Hawaiian meal with plenty of outdoor space. If you prefer beachside dining, head on down to Countryside Café on Farrington Highway for an eclectic mix of breakfast, homestyle cooking, and Hawaiian cuisine. The beach trails at Lahilahi Point and the Mahaka Trail will be perfect before or after-lunch walking spots for your pup.
