Although Whitmore Village doesn't have a lot of activities for your pup to partake in, many of the surrounding areas are dog-friendly and not much of a drive away. Wahiawa Homesteads in Wahiawa is only about a 7-minute drive from Whitmore Village, and if you're looking for somewhere to eat with Fido, you're in luck! There are several dog-friendly restaurants in the neighborhood, like Taqueria El Ranchero, one of the first – and one of the most popular – Mexican restaurants on the island of Oahu. Enjoy your meal with your pup on the outdoor patio!

Mililani Town
Mililani Town in Mililani, Hawaii is only about 5 miles away from Wahiawa Homesteads. This neighborhood is one of two distinct neighborhoods in the city and is the lucky one with its own dog park! Mililani Dog Park is a fenced-in, off-leash park for small and large dogs to enjoy. With a mix of grass and dirt, your dog will love playing and socializing. He can even grab a drink from the water fountain just for dogs. This area is known for its authentic Thai cuisine, so if your pooch has never tried Thai food, now is his chance! There are two dog-friendly Thai restaurants here: Rajanee Thai Cuisine and Phuket Thai Restaurant, both of which welcome your leashed dog at an outdoor table.

Kawailoa Ahupua`a
The Kawailoa Ahupua’a neighborhood of Haleiwa sits close to the northern end of the island and is about a 10-minute drive from Whitmore Village. This area is perfect for you if you enjoy dining out with your dog, since it has a virtually endless array of dog-friendly restaurants with almost any type of food you crave! Uncle Bo’s Pupu Bar & Grill is the perfect spot for some local favorites, from lobster tails to filet mignon. Waialua Bakery is a popular place for treats, salads, and yummy sandwiches. Halawa Ahupua'a
A 24-minute drive from Whitmore Village will take you to Halawa Ahupua’a in Aiea. This area sits near the beautiful Middle Loch of the island and historic Pearl Harbor sites, making it a popular spot for tourists. The neighborhood has several paw-friendly restaurants for you to enjoy while taking in some scenic views of the water. Big City Diner is among the most popular in the area, featuring a casual dining experience with some American favorites, like ribs and steak. You can bring your leashed pup with you to eat at one of the outdoor tables. Dixie Grill also has a few tables outside for your and your dog to enjoy one of the restaurant’s famous BLTs for bacon lovers.

Kapahulu
About 25 miles southeast from Whitmore Village is Kapahulu in the beautiful city of Honolulu, Hawaii. Ala Wai Dog Park is a gorgeous, off-leash park for your dog within the Ala Wai Community Park. Situated right on the Kahanamoku Lagoon, the park is the perfect mix of fun and relaxation for you and your pooch. Once she’s had her exercise for the day, you can check out Snow Factory, one of the island’s most popular spots for cool treats. You can enjoy a fun fusion of ice cream and shaved ice with your favorite flavors – and your favorite pooch – at one of the outdoor tables.
