Kahuku
Kahuku, HI is a small, census-designated area of Oahu Island. The area isn’t divided into neighborhoods and is only just over two square miles in area. But there are still a few dog-friendly places to enjoy here! First, the town sits on the coast of the island, so there are plenty of beach areas to enjoy with your leashed dog. Or, you can also visit one of a few dog-friendly restaurants in town, including Seven Brothers at the Mill, a local favorite with mostly outdoor seating that’s perfect for you and your pooch. If you want something super quick, try one of several food trucks, like Aloha Espresso & Coffee, with outdoor seating for you and your dog.

Hauula
Hauula is another small, undivided town on Oahu, and it's about a 16-minute drive from Kahuku. This area is the home of the gorgeous Aukai Beach, where you and your leashed dog are welcome to sink your toes in the sand, soak up the sun, and enjoy the beautiful views from sun-up to sunset. You can also visit one of two dog-friendly restaurants in the area: Papa Ole’s Kitchen, serving local favorites, and North Shore Tacos, with unique taco, burrito, and quesadilla options. Both places have plenty of outdoor seating and welcome your dogs to join you for a treat.

Haleiwa
Haleiwa is about 30 minutes away from Kahuku. It’s also not divided into neighborhoods, and is instead a census-designated place on the island of Oahu. This area is one of the best places to visit with your dog if you’re looking for a vast selection of restaurants that will welcome your pooch. You can find just about anything to please your (and your dog’s!) taste buds here, from sweet treats at Waialua Bakery (it even has gluten-free and vegan options!) to authentic Mexican fare at Cholo’s Homestyle Mexican Restaurant. These and several other restaurants in the area offer dog-friendly outdoor seating so your pooch can feel like one of the pack.

Mililani Town
About 48 minutes away from Kahuku is Mililani Town, one of two neighborhoods in the town of Mililani. This area has its own dog park, the Mililani Dog Park, which is a favorite of dog owners and visitors to the island. The dog is fenced all the way around and has some shaded areas and benches for owners to relax and watch their pups. If you’re in the neighborhood, don’t forget to bring your paws to one of several dog-friendly restaurants, like Aloha Island Grill. This is a good place for tourists, especially to get a taste of authentic Hawaiian foods, from yummy barbecue to fresh-caught fish. Dogs are welcome to join owners at the outdoor tables!

Wahiawa Homesteads
About 44 minutes away from Kahuku is the neighborhood of Wahiawa Homesteads in Wahiawa, HI. This area sits in the middle of the island and is one of the most pupular places for locals and tourists. Wahiawa Homesteads has a hotel that welcomes dogs if you and your best furry friend need a place to rest your weary heads. Plus, there are many paw-friendly dining opportunities here, like Maui Mike’s Fire-Roasted Chicken, which is open seven days a week and welcomes dogs at the outdoor tables. If you're craving Mexican cuisine, Taqueria El Ranchero is a place you won’t want to pass up. You and your dog can sit at a front outdoor table and enjoy everything from tortas to burritos.
