Crown Point -- or, as it is known among the locals, the “Hub of Lake County” -- is the county seat of Lake County, and is located 50 miles away from Chicago. The interesting thing about Crown Point is that, in the '70s, there was no waiting period for issuing marriage licenses; many people were going there just to get married. Among the most famous people that got married in Crown Point are actors Rudolph Valentino and Tom Mix and music mogul Joe Jackson.

Crown Point is certainly no stranger to fame -- in 2007, Universal Studios filmed a number of scenes in Crown Point for the movie Public Enemies, starring Christian Bale and Johnny Depp.

It's no surprise, then, that your pup will be treated like the star he is while you're here! When it comes to healthcare, you and Fido will be happy to know that there are more than 10 veterinary clinics, hospitals, and veterinary services in Crown Point that will take great care of your pooch in case of any emergencies.

If you are in the mood for hiking, then you should check out the Erie Lackawanna Trail. Take some water and waste bags with you, and enjoy this nice trail! After hiking, you can rest up in one of the six dog-friendly locales in this city. Grab a bite at one of Crown Point's furrific fur-friendly restaurants, including Buddy and Pal's Place, Pappa's Restaurant, or Cold Stone Creamery.
