"Thank you for all the feedback and for helping me update my profile. You made me comfortable with this new app/program and leaving my babies with strangers. I would love to request you as a regular friend who could come grab them for walks. "

Fort Worth has a little “fort” just for the pups: Fort Woof Dog Park at Gateway Park. Located on Gateway Park Drive, Fort Woof is a completely fenced-in park where dogs love to run and enjoy the freedom of being leash-free. Fort Woof has separate areas for large and small dogs, picnic areas, and water spigots to help keep your dog cool on those hot Texas days. Fort Woof is a beloved park and is often very busy, so if your pooch doesn’t do well in crowds, you may want to steer clear of this dog park.

For dogs that like to run off-leash but aren’t too keen about being around lots of other dogs, Keenum-Shelton Dog Park is the place for them. Keenum-Shelton has two separate areas – a larger area and a smaller area. Both areas have doggie playground equipment, including fire hydrant tunnels and tires. Potty bags and trash cans are provided at this park, and there are patches of shade to shield you and your pooch from the scorching sun.

If an adventure is what you’re looking for, then River Legacy is the park for you. Trails twist and turn throughout this park – the longest being a 12-mile ribbon right next to the Trinity River – and dogs are welcome as long as they’re on their leashes! If you're lucky, there's a decent likelihood that you'll be able to spot some wildlife while traversing the trails, including armadillos and Bobcats, so it is imperative that your dog stays on his leash at all times. The wildlife tends to keep its distance from humans, but the last thing you want is Fido breaking loose and trying to tangle with a mama bobcat who’s protecting her kittens.
