Helotes, Texas is a small town with a small town vibe. The community is very friendly and integrated, with the town priding itself on family friendly activities held often throughout the area. With rolling hills and beautiful scenery, almost every spot is a good one for walking your pooch. There are two animal hospitals at either end of the town, ensuring that your pup will be well taken care of no matter which end you're on.
Located just off Old Bandera Road is the Helotes Creek Nature Center. This center is just off a natural area surrounding Los Reyes Creek, which is home to the endangered whooping crane, as well as a large host of similar wildlife. Natural trees and grasses line this area, so take your pup down for some wildlife and nature viewing. The area isn’t fenced in, so remember to keep your pooch leashed at all times and bring enough water for the both of you.
If you’re coming from out of town, the Motel 6 located right off the freeway is a short drive from Helotes and welcomes pets of any size for no additional fee. Take your pup down to the Two Step Restaurant just a couple minutes away and gorge on Texas inspired cuisine. There’s a back porch with a grassy area that’s perfect for dogs, so you can spend quality time with your favorite four legged friend.
Laminacks Take Helotes is a beautiful, dog friendly neighborhood with an easygoing community. This neighborhood lays claim to the Helotes Natural Area and Disc Golf Course, a large green area with the occasional shaded benches ideal for a brief rest. Dogs are welcome so long as they’re leashed, making this one of the perfect spots to take your pup on their morning walk! There’s equal part trees and field, making sure the place feels spacious without a complete lack of shade. Remember to bring water for yourself and your pooch, as there isn’t easy access to it at this park.
Hi my name is hannah and I have a passion for all kinds of dogs. I've been around dogs my entire life. I love to pet sit and take dogs for walks. I have experience petsitting as well. I've pet sat for up to 5 dogs at once aging from 10 weeks to 12 years old. I am comfortable and very flexible watching or walking more than one dog at a time. I hope I get the opportunity to walk or watch your dog/dogs for you!
