Purcellville is a busy Virginia town that boasts plenty of beautiful 20th-century Victorian architecture and a lot to do both indoors and outside! Summers in Purcellville are hot, and winters are cold, but no matter the time of year, there is always something to do in Purcellville. Purcellville has a population of just under 10,000, but there are a handful of veterinarians in the city to keep the pets of those residents thriving.

Purcellville is located close to the Blue Ridge Mountains, and in many parts of the city, you will get excellent mountain views. One of these great places for taking in the picturesque mountains is at Breaux Vineyards. This winery is 404 acres, and there is tons of outdoor seating where leashed dogs are welcome to join their owners. Breaux Vineyards makes wine from 17 different kinds of grapes, all of which are worth trying! Once a year, Breaux Vineyards has Dog Day at Breaux where there is live music, food, and vendors selling different doggy goodies. Dogs and wine -- could it get any better than that?

Purcellville is an enjoyable and accommodating place for dog owners where both you and Rover will love to live or stop in for a visit.

The heart of Purcellville is a good spot to get started on the Washington and Old Dominion Railroad Regional Park Trail. This 45-mile trail is one of the most popular in the state, and it's a beautiful spot to walk your dog while enjoying Virginia's scenery. W&OD, as it is also known, was first built as a railway line in 1858, but by 1968 it was no longer being used. It was purchased in 1982 by the Northern Virginia Parks Association and added to a network of trails throughout America made by abandoned railway lines. This part of the trail takes you from sprawling farmlands to suburban neighborhoods, and you and Fido are sure to enjoy every step of it.
