Tuscarora is a tiny community of less than 100 people in Frederick County, Maryland, near the Maryland/Virginia border and the Potomac River. There's a beautiful creek that runs through this community known as Tuscarora Creek, and the area was named after it. Tuscarora mainly consists of farming land and farmhouses, and pet owners often have very large spaces for their dogs to run and play. There isn't a veterinary clinic within Tuscarora, but there are some in the surrounding areas, including equine services for all of the horses in the area.
There isn't a designated off-leash dog area in Tuscarora, but a portion of the Chesapeake and Ohio Canal Historic National Park Trail runs through town, and it's a pawesome place to walk your dog. This trail was once a railway line that was converted into one of 1,600 trails that span America. This particular portion of the trail stretches for more than 184 miles, some of which is in Tuscarora. The trail is also referred to as the C & O, and it's a pawpular spot for dog walkers, hikers, and bikers. Along the trail, you'll come across plenty of beautiful scenery as well as cafes, shops, and historical landmarks.
Tuscarora is a lovely small town just a short distance from many dog-friendly activities you and your pet are sure to enjoy together!
