Milestone
Germantown’s Milestone neighborhood is home to one of the region’s most popular doggy destinations: Ridge Road Recreational Dog Park. Encompassing approximately a half-acre of land inside Ridge Road Recreational Park, this secure dog park is surrounded by a 6-foot chain link fence. While the park is not huge, there is plenty of room for off-leash play, and there is even a picnic area for pet parents. Dogs are also welcome throughout the rest of the park, however, they must remain leashed. If you are looking for a great place to eat following a hard day of play, check out the dog-friendly Noodles & Company.

Father Hurley Blvd / Water Landing Dr
When you are hungry and want to find the area’s best selection, head to the Father Burley Blvd / Water Landing Dr neighborhood. There you will find several restaurants with Fido-friendly outdoor seating, including Panera Bread, Chipotle Mexican Grill, Zoe’s Kitchen, Five Guys, Baja Fresh Mexican Grill and Sabai Sabai Simply Thai. Picca Polla A La Brasa is another local favorite serving up tasty Peruvian food. Their outdoor patio has plenty of dog-friendly seating. While you’re in the area, enjoy a relaxing stroll through Germantown Square Urban Park. The park has a gazebo, and it is a nice place to relax with your four-legged friend.

South Germantown
South Germantown is home to one of the area’s most popular parks. South Germantown Recreational Park is the perfect place to spend a day with your entire family, including the four-legged members. This 695-acre park features community gardens, a playground, picnic areas, and more than 7 miles of trails for hiking and biking. The trails are handicap-accessible and connected to convenient parking areas. Pack a lunch, and spend the entire day exploring and playing with your four-legged friend. Make note that local laws require all dogs to remain leashed while in the park. Whether you visit with the entire family, or just your canine companion, South Germantown Recreational Park has something for everyone.

Boyds
Located just over 3 miles west in the small community of Boyds, Black Hill Regional Dog Park provides several opportunities for rambunctious pups to blow off steam. The park is located inside Black Hill Regional Park, which has more than 16 miles of trails that are perfect for long hikes on-leash. When your dog really needs to cut loose, check out the half-acre fenced dog park. Dogs are welcome to play, explore and make new friends off-leash in this section of the park. The park also features numerous picnic shelters, playgrounds and more. Many parts of the park are ADA-accessible, making it a destination anyone can enjoy.

Ashburton
To visit one of the region’s nicest dog parks, head approximately 16 miles south to the small town of Ashburton. There you will find Cabin John Dog Park, which is located inside the expansive Cabin John Regional Park. Spend some time exploring the main park’s four miles of hiking trails with your dog on-leash, or check out the impressive off-leash park. This wooded dog park provides water and cleanup bags and offers plenty of space to run or play fetch. There is even a climbing area for more adventurous pups. This quiet park spans about half of an acre and has a six-foot fence.
