The small village of Aldie is located between Dover and Gilberts Corner in Loudoun County, Virginia. Quiet and tiny, the village is proud of its historical roots, which are well-preserved in the center of town. This is the perfect place to roam with a leashed pup, marveling at the historical buildings and memorial parks. The off-leash options are limited unless you're prepared to take a half-hour trip to Herndon or Sterling, north of the village. The closest veterinary clinics, on the other hand, are located west, along the John Mosby Highway in South Riding.

To enjoy the charm of local history and get a little culture, don’t dismiss Aldie Mill Historic Park, an important historical landmark with a wonderful atmosphere of a pastoral village park. The grounds are open from mid-April through mid-November and offer plenty of space for leashed walks and roaming. Dogs aren't allowed inside any of the buildings, but you two can sniff around the exterior of this 200-year-old mill. This is the pawfect place to snap an Instagram-worthy selfie!

Gilbert’s Corner Regional Park just west of Aldie is a simple yet well-maintained public park with winding walking trails. You will need to bring a leash, drinking water, and waste bags with you.
