Creekstone
Creekstone is a small neighborhood in Vestavia Hills, but it has a great deal to offer people who visit it with their canine companions. Its central feature is McCallum Park, a beautiful community park that is truly a hidden gem of the city. This park provides a nice, laid-back setting for a leisurely stroll around its grounds. It contains walking trails, multiple pavilions, restrooms, and an open field. There is even a small creek that runs through the park next to the trails! Your dog is sure to love it, just make sure they stay on their leash while they’re in the park.

Laurel View Estates
Laurel View Estates rests to the south of Vestavia Hills in the city of Hoover, and it is definitely a neighborhood worth visiting if you are accompanied by a waggy friend! While locals love this neighborhood for its quiet atmosphere and nice scenery, dogs love it even more. That is because it houses Loch Haven Dog Park, one of the best places for dogs in the city. This off-leash, fenced dog park has separate areas for large and small dogs and an obstacle course. Outside the fenced area, you can find a half-mile walking path, picnic pavilion, and recreational field. There are also some benches for humans in case you need to take a breather.

Southridge
You don’t want to miss Southridge, one of the area’s top neighborhoods, if you are traveling through Vestavia Hills. The neighborhood is the home of Wald Park, a modest community park that is known for its large playground area. This furrific park is a great place for a walk outside with your furry friend—it has a walking path around its perimeter which is shaded by tall, mature trees, so you can let your pooch get some exercise without worrying about them over-heating on a hot day. The park also has a pavilion and drinking fountain. Don't fur-get to bring bags and water!

Ridge Park
Ridge Park is a neighborhood in Vestavia Hills that is known for its friendly community and wide array of dining options. Unsurprisingly, you can find delicious food served at outdoor, dog-friendly tables, so definitely stop by if you’re looking for a good meal! Diplomat Deli is a great choice for lunch or a snack. They specialize in soups, salads, and sandwiches, but note that they have limited Sunday hours, 11am to 3pm. Another choice nearby is Bar 31. They serve American classics like fried chicken and mashed potatoes. They have a large enclosed patio outside to accommodate your furry friend.
Downtown Vestavia Hills
If you are in Vestavia Hills or nearby, it is well worth your time to take a walk through the city's downtown are. There are lots of things to do here, but it can be nice to just meander through the well-maintained suburban town blocks and take in the southern ambiance that entices so many visitors to Alabama! You’ll probably notice the abundance of locally-owned restaurants in the neighborhood. Some good choices with dog-friendly outdoor seating are Bistro V for upscale American dining and Samurai Japan for Asian cuisine. Mugshots Grill and Bar is a local chain that serves casual classics that will fill you up.
