Hi! My name is Rebecca and I am an animal lover by nature. I grew up surrounded by animals and raised a Border-Collie mix pup to live a long, healthy and happy 16 years! I have walked dogs, house-sat, and cared for all kinds of pets for over 16 years. Obedience classes & agility training courses were part of the growing up process with my own dog, Sara. Mostly we had a fun, goofy time just playing. She went everywhere with me! Since she passed away, I take any chance I can to be around my canine pals. I've always had an affinity for dogs large & small, with boundless energy or a calm disposition. I know how important it is to have your dog(s) well-cared for while you are busy or traveling so I am here to help! I am always up for a leisurely stroll in the neighborhood, brisk walk or challenging hike. Whatever your needs are I can meet them. I feel very fortunate to be able to walk a variety of dogs. It would be my great pleasure to meet your dog and make a new friend!

Clayton in Contra Costa County hasn’t been this prosperous since the small scale coal rush started the town flourishing in 1860. Today, Clayton manages to maintain the charms of a small town while being close to a number of large cities like Oakland and San Francisco. Your dog will love the fresh air and ample room to roam, and you can rest easy knowing the full technology of an animal hospital is located right inside this small town.
If you want to get a great view of the area, start with the Peacock Ridge Trail--this 6.6 mile loop is a bit of a climb, but it gives you the best views in the area! If you want to explore Clayton and get in a longer climb, you can spend the day with your pup following the 10 mile trail of the Donner Canyon Road to Mitchell Canyon Road Loop. Bring lots of water, and prepare to see a lot of what makes Clayton great.
If you’d rather have a slower or shorter trip, check out Clayton Community Park Picnic Area 5. This unimaginatively named spot is away from downtown Clayton and pawfect for relaxing! You and your dog have a lot to look forward to in Clayton!
Clayton’s dog park is so great, your dog won’t even worry that it’s the only one. Off leash fun is easy to come by in Clayton Dog Park! Dogs will love the fully fenced play area, complete with shade trees and water fountains. Pack a bowl to be sure your pup will have a clean place to drink from. Humans will love that it has benches ready and rearing to go! The park is open year round for excited dogs to come and work off some energy! While the area isn’t huge, it’s also possible to take an off leash walk with your dog. This is great for shy dogs who just want to hang with you!
Downtown Clayton is a walkable area that’s fun for the whole family--especially if you stop by The Grove. The Grove is a park in central downtown that has it all. There’s a playground for the kids, plenty of picnic tables, and a great little green space in the middle of the busiest part of Clayton. It’s a fantastic place to spend a few hours relaxing, but it’s equally great for a quick walk. If you and your dog have to get in a full walk on your hour lunch break, this is the place to go. It’s typically busy and has several walking paths for you and your dog to explore.
The Old Marsh Creek Springs Park in the Marsh Creek Springs neighborhood of Clayton is a beautiful place to visit. The park is made up of cultivated gardens, some of which feature exotic plants. There’s a lot of beautiful greenery and pretty images around of the park, and lots to explore! For the safety of both your dog and the exotic plants in Old Marsh Creek Springs Park, keep your dog on leash inside the park. A curious digger could ruin a lot of flower beds here! Bring your own water, and a bowl for your pup to drink out of while you explore this beautiful park.
The North Valley Park in Clayton’s residential Keller Ridge neighborhood is a great park to go to if you’re looking for a quick, quiet walk. North Valley Park serves the neighborhood, and isn’t as busy as some of the other parks in the area. It’s on the small side, with a playground and picnic area taking up a lot of the room. There are green grass fields to explore, and many dogs will be happier in this quiet environment than they would be elsewhere. Circling the park is a great way to get a short, high intensity walk. Bring your own water bowl but there are plenty of fountains.
Dana Hills Park in Dana Hills is a large community park pawfect for taking your dog to. There’s room to roam--in addition to sports games, the open space in Dana Hills Park is occasionally used as a musical venue! When there isn’t a concert taking place, that open space is ripe for walking, rolling, sniffing, and exploring! You can let your dog enjoy it, too. There’s also a few walking trails through the park, and a large playground. Dogs should be leashed in Dana Hills Park. Pack a water bowl to fill up at one of the park’s many fountains!
