Riverview has several pet-friendly attractions available to members of the public and their beloved four-legged friends. One such attraction is the Bell Creek Nature Preserve, which allows on-leash dogs. The preserve covers almost 600 acres of land and is known for its’ biodiversity, and specifically a rare golden aster population. Amenities include comfort stations, picnic clearings, and restrooms. There is a beautiful five-mile nature path that features glimpses of wild grasslands and Flatwoods, as well as some smaller unpaved hiking trails.
Other town parks include Magnolia Park and the Alafia Scrub Preserve. The Alafia Scrub Preserve covers eighty acres and has a hiking trail that ends with a scenic overlook. Leashed dogs are allowed. The preserve is a great way to explore many of Florida’s landscapes, including tidal marsh, ocean shoreline, forest, creeks, and ravines. The preserve has been protected for over fifteen years, making it a great place to get back to nature in a busy town.
Several restaurants in Riverview will accommodate on-leash dogs at their outdoor patio seats. Green Iguana has been in the area for almost two decades and has live music almost every night. The menu is locally inspired pub food. Nearby Acropolis, which serves Mediterranean and Greek food, also welcomes leashed dogs in the outdoor seating area.
I have been an animal lover my entire life! In fact, I love them so much I spent three years at Disney as an animal trainer. I truly enjoy getting to build a positive relationship which each and every dog I meet.
