Lightfoot Road
This neighborhood is home to Little Manatee River State Park, where dogs are welcome on-leash. Here, you and your pup can go for a stroll on the park’s popular 6.5-mile loop trail. This trail will take you through a woodsy area and past the Little Manatee River. Or, if you’re looking for a shorter hike, check out the one-mile Oxbow Nature Trail in the southern part of the park. If all that hiking makes you hot, go for a swim with your dog in the Little Manatee River. Or, rent a dog-friendly canoe or kayak and go for a paddle down the river. This park is full of great things to do with your dog!

3rd Avenue SE
Looking for a spot where your dog can play off-leash? Head over to Dr. Ott’s Dog Park in Ruskin. Located about six miles from Wimauma, this dog park has separate areas for large and small dogs to play in. Both areas are fenced in and feature large grassy fields. The park also has plastic kiddie pools your dog can splash around on hot days, and there’s drinking water available. While your dog plays, you can sit and watch on the dog park’s fun swinging bench. You and your dog will both have a great time in this furrific park!

Bal Harbour
Bal Harbor is home to Apollo Beach, where dogs are welcome on-leash. This beautiful beach is only 15 miles from Wimauma, and it offers stunning views of Tampa Bay. There are also picnic tables where you can enjoy an al fresco meal with your dog. If you want to let your dog play off-leash after you’re done at the beach, head over to nearby Apollo Beach Dog Park. This off-leash area has separate large and small dog areas. There are fun tunnels here for your dog to crawl through, and the park also provides kiddie pools for them to play in. If your dog gets thirsty while they’re playing, water bowls are available.

Davis Islands
Davis Islands is home to the always fun Davis Island Dog Park. This park is about 33 miles from Wimauma, and it includes two separate areas: a fenced-in, grassy field and a beach where dogs can play off-leash. Your pup will love splashing around in the bay and running in the park’s large field. Bring some water for them, and have a great time playing here! If playing in the park makes you and your pup hungry, grab a snack at Zigi Café. This café has six dog-friendly outdoor tables, and they serve delicious and healthy Israeli fare.

For another fun dog park, head over to this Bradenton neighborhood and check out Happy Tails Dog Park. This dog park is 29 miles from Wimauma, and it includes separate areas for small and large dogs. Inside the park, you’ll find a doggy toy box filled with fun toys for your pup to play with. There’s also water available for them if they get thirsty, and there are plenty of benches for owners to relax on while their dogs play. If you want a pick-me-up after the dog park, head over to Land of a Thousand Hills Coffee. Grab one of their three dog-friendly outdoor tables, and enjoy tasty coffee drinks, pastries, sandwiches, wraps, and soups.
