This historic town of Villa Rica is located just 7.1 miles from Ridgeview Heights and features a variety of Fido friendly activities. Take your pup to the Clinton Nature Preserve at the intersection of Post Road and Interstate 20. Fido will love romping through the 200-acre park while the two-legged children have fun on the ADA accessible playground. There are picnic pavilions available where you can find fresh water for you and your pooch and relax after a few hours of walking and enjoying nature.

The growing town of Hiram offers several outdoor activities where you can enjoy quality time with your pup only 7.7 miles from Ridgeview Heights. At the corner of North Ave and Seaboard St, Hiram Trailhead is on the Silver Comet Trail and provides miles of hiking for you and your pooch. When planning a day out with Fido, you will both enjoy the convenience of Homer Leggett Park next to the trailhead where you can indulge in a quick snack at the covered picnic tables and fill up your water battles before hitting the trail. Adjacent to the park is Hiram Hounds Dog Park, which offers three different fenced in areas just for pups! Open from sunrise to sunset, this is surely the place your dog wants to be!

Douglasville City Center
A short 6.8 miles from Ridgeview Heights, the historic former railroad town of Douglasville provides well maintained sidewalks to stroll through town admiring the architecture with your pooch. Hunter Memorial Park is the town’s largest park, and features both a playground and wildlife pond where you and Fido can enjoy a sunny afternoon. If you are meeting up with friends and their pups for a game of disc golf, you will be sure to get in all your daily steps for your fitness tracker.

Pine Valley Rd/ Hiram Douglas Hwy
Powder Springs is located about 10 miles from Ridgeview Heights, and features the dog-friendly Taylor Farm Park. You and Fido will probably meet up with other pups while walking along the trails and enjoying the playground. There are trash cans in various spots throughout the park, but you will need to bring your own dog poop bags. Bathrooms are also available where you can give your pooch a cool drink before taking another lap around the park to work off Fido’s excess energy. On your way home from the park, stop off at B&B Fish and Wings and pick up some Wings to-go for a snack with your pup.
Dallas City Center
Dallas is a quaint town located about 9 miles from Ridgeview Heights, and features the Sara Babb Park. Pup owners are often found with their furry pals walking or biking along the trails for some vigorous exercise for both Fido and her owner. Playground equipment is available for the children, and outdoor BBQ grills are perfect for a picnic with your pooch and friends. Another nearby park is part of the Silver Comet Trail along Jimmy Campbell Parkway. These trails are part of a former rail line and offers a safe place to walk your pup and explore the area.
