The City of Roswell was founded by Roswell King, who came from St. Simons Island, Georgia in 1836. It officially became a city on February 16, 1854. Due to its low crime rate, the city has been ranked one of the safest cities to live in the United States according to City Crime Rankings.
There is an off-leash area for dogs in the Leita Thompson Memorial Park in Roswell, Georgia with enough space for your dog to run around the park. Depending on your dog’s size, he can be placed in one of the two designated areas. There are shaded areas with benches and water fountains for you and your pup. After all the fun in the park, you can also cool down by walking on the trail. Just be mindful in cleaning up after your dog.
Just right next to Leita Thompson Memorial Park is the Mountain Park Dog Park. If you're scared of little Fido getting trampled, don't worry, there are two areas separated out for large and small dogs, which are also open. You can certainly bring your family as well as your furry family member for some leisurely walk in their trial. Plus, there is a lake behind it too. Roswell, Georgia is a safe place to live for you and your dogs, and most definitely fun too!
If you want to take your special friend out for a bite to eat, you’re in the right place! Central Roswell is home to a plethora of dog-friendly restaurants, so you’re sure to find something to please your palate. Fancy something European? Head to Salt Factory, an English-style gastropub with a dog-friendly patio. Looking for some American fare instead? Stop in at Diesel Pizza and Pub. Ceviche Taqueria and Margarita Bar is also happy to welcome your four-legged friend to join you for a casual drink. If you’re staying in the northern part of the city and don’t fancy travelling into downtown to find somewhere to eat, the Cross Point neighborhood has got you covered! This furrific neighborhood is home to four dog-friendly eateries! Bombay Brasserie is a great option; you and your furry friend can chow down on some Indian cuisine at any of the restaurant’s outdoor, dog-friendly tables. Just be sure not to order anything too spicy! You’ll also find the Flying Biscuit Cafe in this neighborhood, serving up Southern soul food to you and your pal at the outdoor tables. There are also a couple of chain restaurants as well, including Chipotle’s Mexican Grill and Starbucks.
Roswell is home to only one dog park, which you’ll find at the Leita Thompson Memorial Park. The designated off-leash area is separated according to dog size, and also provides access to water fountains for both canines and humans alike. You’ll just need to bring some doggie waste bags along for the pawfect day out! Keep in mind that your pal is welcome outside the dog park area, but he must be on a leash if he wants to explore the rest of the park with you. The larger park offers a nice walking trail, as well as a creek, although it isn’t clear whether or not dogs are allowed to play in the water.
This neighborhood is located in the eastern region of Roswell, Georgia. While you’re here, you simply must stop by Red Bandanna Pet Food. This is a pet food store that strives to bring you the most nutritious dog food on the market today. Choose between Doubletree by Hilton Atlanta Roswell, or check out Studio 6 Atlanta Roswell just across the way. Studio 6 charges an additional fee of just $10 per pet, per night, and up to two dogs of any size are allowed to stay with you. Doubletree by Hilton Atlanta Roswell lets you bring up to two dogs of up to 25 pounds for an additional $75 per pet, per night. Keep in mind that you may be able to bring larger dogs, but you must consult management before you book your room.
