The island of O’ahu, Hawaii has a diverse and incredibly beautiful landscape. Right in the center of the island next door to the town of Wahiawa, the army installation of Schofield Barracks offers a tight-knit neighborhood that is perfect for you and your furry friend. There is a veterinary clinic right on base to keep your pet healthy, and plenty of outdoor activities to keep you both happy!

There are many community fields and parks that are perfect for an on-leash walk or jog. The Kalakaua Community Park is centrally located with some great benches and plenty of space to roam. It is also next to Weyand Field, which offers even more open space to enjoy. Make sure to bring your own water and bags to have an easy day outside.

For a pawsome stroll, take a walk on the Kolekole Trail inside Schofield Barracks. The parking and the trailhead are located at the end of Trimble Road and are clearly marked. The trail is fairly easy and only about a mile long, but it features incredible views at the top that are well worth the trip. Make sure you keep the leash on as there are some steep drops just off the trail, and bring your own water to keep everyone safe and hydrated.
