Dog Areas in Ewa Beach

If you're looking for a sunny beach destination where you can rest up with your pooch, you'd be barking mad to miss the dog-friendly Ewa Beach in Hawaii. This quaint locale gets its name from the Hawaiian word ewa, which means "crooked." Its name is connected to a local myth that involves the Hawaiian gods Kāne and Kanaloa.

Ewa Beach doesn't have any pet-friendly accommodations, so you'll need to travel 23 miles away to find some in Honolulu. Luckily, though, there are veterinary practices here, as well as a few places where you and your hungry hound can chow down! Teddy's Bigger Burgers and Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf both welcome leashed, well-behaved dogs at their outdoor tables. Don't forget to bring a water bowl with you to both establishments.

Looking for an adventure outside of town? Ewa Beach is also located only four miles from Pearl Harbor. While you're here, don't forget to visit the USS Arizona Memorial, which is the most visited attraction in Hawaii.

What beach trip is complete without a trip to the beach? Leash up Fido and paw on over to One'ula Beach! Dogs are allowed to play here, as long as they remain leashed and supervised. Don't furget to bring plenty of drinking water with you!
