Rexburg City
There is so much to see and do in the Rexburg City neighborhood, including a couple of the city's finest parks. The Rexburg Nature Park is always popular, because not only is it home to sports facilities, a fishing pond, and play areas, but its walking trails follow along a tranquil part of the Teton River. These trails are home to a wide range of wildlife and waterfowl, so be sure to keep Fido on a lead. For a tasty snack after your walk, head to Great Harvest Bread, a casual bakery with freshly made goods, as well as a dog-friendly table outside.

Smith Park
Located on the east side of Rexburg, the Smith Park neighborhood is home to the popular Smith Park. Instantly visible thanks to the antique steam engine placed at the park's entrance, this park features sports facilities, playgrounds, picnic shelters and more, as well as a walking path that meanders its way through it all. Also in this neighborhood is the 8.2 acre Community Park, which is home to a range of sporting facilities, as well as viewing stands. Since both of these are city parks, you will need to make sure that you keep Fido on a lead, and bring along some water and doggie bags too.

Henderson
With its wide sidewalks and quiet side streets, the Henderson neighborhood is great for a relaxing, urban dog walk. Of course, Fido will appreciate some greenery too, so make your way over to Evergreen Park. This city park has a large grassy area for dogs to sniff around in, as well as soccer fields, a playground and a picnic shelter, although you will need to keep your dog on a lead here. Keep in mind that there are not many trees to provide shade within this park, so you may need to bring some extra drinking water for Fido, especially on a hot day.

Parkinson/ Herbert
Idaho is a state with so much natural beauty, and the Parkinson/Herbert neighborhood really showcases this. A tail-wagging way to explore this is by taking the Cress Creek Nature Trail, which is one and a quarter miles long. This trail is packed with natural diversity, with everything from juniper to wildflowers to watercress growing wild, and ends at a lovely creek. Bring water and doggie bags, and keep your pup leashed throughout. To get even closer to nature, take your pooch on a trip to Moody Meadow, which is loved for its rugged wilderness. There is plenty of hiking to be enjoyed here, and you can even try your hand at wild camping, but be sure to bring some form of bear deterrent to keep you and Fido safe.

Burton/ Archer
Being home to so much natural diversity, there is a wide range of wildlife to be seen all around the Burton/Archer neighborhood. A pawtastic place to check this out is the Twin Bridges Park, a 31 acre park complete with fishing, picnic areas and a campsite, although a lead for Fido is required here. Also in this neighborhood is Yellowstone Bear World, a drive-through wildlife park with everything from bison to grizzly bears. For your pooch to accompany you on this adventure, you will need to keep him in the cab of your car. If this is not possible, the park provides complimentary kennels where Fido can relax until you return.
