Dog Areas in Mount Prospect

Mount Prospect is a village located in Cook County, Illinois, in the Elk Grove and Wheeling Townships. This densely populated village is just 22 miles from Chicago, so big city amenities are just a short drive away. Mount Prospect is very dog-friendly and cares about its canine visitors, which is evident in the village's 6 veterinary practices.

Mount Prospect doesn't have any dog-friendly hotels or lodging options -- apart from a few AirBnB rentals -- but it does have several dog-friendly eateries where you can grab a bite! Emerson's Ale House is an excellent place to enjoy a craft beer. Craving some breakfast food? Head to the puntastic Eggsperience Pancakes and Cafe! El Sombrero Mexican Restaurant, El Burrito, and Chipotle Mexican Grill all serve mouthwatering Mexican favorites. Menchie's Frozen Yogurt is a furrific place to get a sweet treat. All establishments welcome leashed dogs at the outdoor tables.

Work off all those calories at Melas Park, which even has a designated dog park for off-leash playtime! Don't forget to bring your own supplies, like doggie waste bags and water.

Mount Prospect is pawfect for pooches and people who want to stay close to the Windy City but prefer a quieter, peaceful area.

The beach is pretty large and there is a parking nearby. Since this beach is pawpular with the locals, you and your pup are sure to make some new friends here!

Seventeen miles away from Mount Prospect, you'll find a dog park that your pup will fall head over paws for! Prairie Wolf Dog Park is located in South Lake Forest and encompasses a whopping 44 acres just for pooches to run and play! The great thing about this park is that it includes a pond where dogs can dip their paws and cool off on sunny days.
