Malden is a healthily-populated city in Middlesex County, Massachusetts. The city has a rich and interesting heritage as one of the original Puritan settlements purchased from Native Americans in 1640. Malden has its own local animal hospital for pet owners who may need a little help keeping their pups happy and healthy whether they live in town or are just passing through. There are also many other animal hospitals and clinics just minutes outside of the city limits if you need help while on your way into or out of town.

Dog owners in Malden report that they adore the dog-friendly atmosphere found in the neighborhoods here. The area is mostly residential with many home owners who have owned property in the area for generations. A leash is required unless otherwise posted or in your own fenced-in yard. Your dog will expect you to take him everywhere with you when you are in Malden, so be prepared for many treks both through town and to the surrounding areas. Nahant Doggie Beach is just a few minutes outside of Malden and makes a great spot for a dog-centered getaway!
