Hi there, I'm Shanna! I have loved having dogs around me all my life, from one grandmother's obedience show dogs to the other grandmother's many adopted strays to the rescued Boxer who was my best friend as a kid, to the goofy fluffball spaniel back home in NH who shuns me whenever I pack to come back to Boston. I personally took both of my dogs through obedience training classes, and worked as a walker and sitter for neighbors for several years. I have been a pet sitter for oodles of other animals, from cats to chickens, and have several years of equestrian work and training experience as well. I can't have a dog with my current work schedule and apartment, so helping your furry friend get some exercise will be a wonderful way for me to get some canine companionship! I can't wait to meet your dog!

Hi, My name is Paul and I have had rescued three dogs since 1997. I had a large Bull Mastiff / St. Bernard mix named Veego that passed away at around 15 in 2012. I have had a German Shepherd since 2005, Honey is currently 14 years old. I have also had a Staffordshire Bull Terrier named Ben since 2007 that is about to be ten. I have pet sat for lots of friends in the past. Pitbulls, Rotweiller, Labradors, Boxer, Pug, Chihuahuas, French Bulldog, and a few Terriers. Seeing any dog always puts a smile on my face, from abandoned rescues to show dogs. I enjoy learning their unique personalities and quirks. I will treat your dog (and home) like I do my own, with love and care. I've also been vegetarian / vegan for over 25 years and like to stay active. Reliable transportation for North Shore and Boston.

Hi, my name is Rebekah. I grew up an animal lover in Maine, where I enjoyed living with a Blue Heeler/Sheppard mix named Sitka. I started walking and sitting for my friends’ and neighbors’ pets more than 5 years ago and have loved it ever since! Recently I’ve moved to Boston and am excited to be back in the area. I have experience with dogs of all sizes and ages. As an outdoorsy, active person, I’d love to meet your best friend and take them out for some fun and exciting exercise! I know each pup is as unique as they are loved, and I can’t wait to provide you both with the caring Wag! experience.

Malden is a healthily-populated city in Middlesex County, Massachusetts. The city has a rich and interesting heritage as one of the original Puritan settlements purchased from Native Americans in 1640. Malden has its own local animal hospital for pet owners who may need a little help keeping their pups happy and healthy whether they live in town or are just passing through. There are also many other animal hospitals and clinics just minutes outside of the city limits if you need help while on your way into or out of town.
Dog owners in Malden report that they adore the dog-friendly atmosphere found in the neighborhoods here. The area is mostly residential with many home owners who have owned property in the area for generations. A leash is required unless otherwise posted or in your own fenced-in yard. Leashes are advisable throughout the city as the streets can be a maze of vehicles, especially during rush hours. Your dog will expect you to take him everywhere with you when you are in Malden, so be prepared for many treks both through town and to the surrounding areas. Nahant Doggie Beach is just a few minutes outside of Malden and makes a great spot for a dog-centered getaway!
North Malden is a great spot in this busy Massachusetts town to get some time in with nature. If you want to visit a safe green spot with plenty of breathing room, you and your dog should up to either of the two parks found in this neighborhood. Oakdale Park is found on the northwest corner of the city, Pine Banks Park is just a few minutes to the east. These two parks both require leashes, but there are so many snifftastic sights to see that your pup won’t even notice. These parks are loved by the locals, so be sure to help keep them clean!
West Malden is another great part of town for families that love to be outside with their canine companions. The residential streets throughout this neighborhood have their own gorgeous green spaces to speak of. Fellsmere Park has both open fields and an open lake where you can enjoy time in the sun or take a refreshing splash. Just make sure you have plenty of waste bags with you and towels for the ride home. You will need to keep your dog on his leash while in this park, but you can make it up to him with extra treats after he finishes his walk.
Central Malden has a variety of attractions that will entertain you and your dog for days. There are several small parks in the neighborhood that all permit dogs on leash. There are paved and dirt paths to walk along with your dog without any worries about the terrain. Dogs of all sizes are a common sight on leash with their owners in this neighborhood, so be sure you have a good leash of your own with good control over your pup in case he gets overly excited. Roosevelt Park is a wonderful place to start your adventures with your dog, just be sure to bring a picnic blanket and your clean-up baggies!
Close to the Rumney Marsh Reservation, East Malden is a pawfect place to get some exercise with your dog. Mostly full of residential streets, locals just have a short drive or walk to get to the public parts of the reservation land. Be mindful to obey all posted signs, as visitors and dogs are only permitted in certain areas. Hunting Field is a beautiful place to throw a frisbee or tennis ball around with your dog right in the neighborhood. Just be sure you don’t forget the dog toys, waste bags, and a blanket to lay on when you need a breather.
South Malden is widely residential. It is also home to the sniff-tacular Malden River. The river is a gorgeous spot for a picnic or a walk with your dog. You will want your favorite leash with you to keep your dog safe and close, as many locals visit the river to fish, relax, or walk their own dogs after work. You can access the river from many pull-offs along the residential streets, so pack a blanket and some extra snacks and head to the southern part of the city for an exquisite afternoon by the water with your charming furry friend.
