Chesapeake City
Chesapeake City is a small town, but there are a handful of parks that are great for dog walkers. Ferryslip Road Park is a large open green space with lots of room to roam and run around to your heart's content. You'll need your waste bags and a way to carry them until you get to a trash can, as the walking paths can be a bit spread out in the area. Chesapeake City Park is a wonderful place to be a pup if you are looking for a small and well-tended park to visit with your dog. Don't forget to bring some treats along!36

White Swan Lake
White Swan Lake is both the name of this pupperific little town and the large lake that rests in the middle of it. This town is great for commuters who need a location that gives them easy access to both Maryland and Delaware. You can visit the town's lake on hot days for an easy way to beat the heat within walking distance of most of the homes in the area. You will want to bring some dry towels with you in case your pup gets overly excited when he gets a whiff of the sparkling water in front of him!24

Elk Neck State Forest
Elk Neck State Forest is just thirty minutes from Chesapeake City. This huge state park is a puptastic place to go for a day or weekend of getting back to basics with nature. You can get out your dog's favorite harness for a full day of hiking fun, or you can throw a tent in the back of your car for a camping trip in the designated camping areas. If you plan on staying in the park for any length of time, you will also want a good flea and tick prevention routine, as the thick woods can bring unwanted visitors to your dog's attention!12

Windsor Village
Windsor Village is a wonderful place to be a pup. You will find Meadow Park is right in the center of this neighborhood, just 15 minutes away from Chesapeake City. If you find yourself in this park with your pup, make sure you have some waste bags with you for quick and easy clean-up as you go. Big Elk Creek takes up quite a bit of space in this neighborhood and commands the attention of residents on both two and four legs, so you will definitely want to make some time to visit. Your dog will be grateful for some dry towels waiting for him back in the car!
Glasgow
Fifteen minutes from Chesapeake City, right across the state line in the state of Delaware is the community of Glasgow. This community is home to Glasgow Regional Park, where you will find activities for the whole family, from walking to skating and biking. Dogs are a familiar sight in this park; just be sure to use a short, non-retractable leash to keep your pup close when the park is busy. Just a short drive away from the center of Glasgow is Lums Pond State Park. This park is a huge area with walking and hiking paths, as well as a large pond that is stocked with fish!
