Havre de Grace is French for "Harbor of Grace", and was named after a port in France. This bay city is right along the Susquehanna River, at the head of the Chesapeake Bay. Back in 2014, the city was named as one of the best 20 small towns in American by Smithsonian Magazine, and continues to be the best not only for humans, but also for its four-legged residents.

One of the most attractive places for dog walkers is the K-9 Cody Dog Park. The park is half an acre of enclosed space for off-leash play, with a grassy terrain, and trees lining the outside for privacy and shade. Dogs owners can enjoy separate areas for small and large dogs, double-gated entrances, and dog-sized water fountains for pups. Other great features of the park include benches, trash bins, and clean-up stations.

McLhinney Park offers one of the most peaceful places to go for a walk with Fido. With tall forested areas, large open spaces, and views of the river, you and your pup will be overjoyed with all the things you can do here. Included in the park is a playground, separate pond for fishing, and a scenic trail called the North Park Loop that follows alongside the river. Don't forget to leash Fido up before coming here!

The town also has one dedicated veterinarian and plenty of other places to roam around town, making Havre de Grace a great place to raise a fur-mily.
