Dewey Central in Hagerstown is a quaint neighborhood which is very small in its size. However, don’t let its small size fool you. For dog owners, this neighborhood is great as it is located nearby to a park in nearly every direction! Pangborn Park is a great park for dogs and their owners to head out for walks. Not only does this park offer ample green space to stretch your dog’s legs, it also has a body of water where your pup can have a quick cooling dip! Other surrounding parks include Fairgrounds Park, Oswald Park, and a few others, all within walking distance from the residences in Dewey Central.

Fountain Head is one of the larger neighborhoods in Hagerstown that offers dog owners the opportunity to explore the heavily treed and lush streets of the community. There are a couple of parks located throughout the neighborhood that give dog owners and their pups to have a destination to walk to while out for a leisurely neighborhood stroll, such as Hamilton Park. Fountain Head neighborhood is also conveniently located near a dog friendly coffee house called Rooster Moon Coffee House. Pooches and their human pals can walk and grab a coffee, sit down and enjoy it, or continue on and explore the neighborhood.

Funkstown

Funkstown is a funky neighborhood with a unique layout within the city limits of Hagerstown. In the heart of this neighborhood is Funkstown Community Park where families, dogs, and dog owners can spend their days enjoying the sunshine and fresh air, making it one of the more desirable neighborhoods for keepers of four-legged friends. Also within the neighborhood runs Antietam Creek where your pooch can have a cool dip during your exercise-filled day! Also, there is a Sonic Drive-In in Funkstown and being dog friendly, this means that dog owners and their pups can head straight over for a quick and fun dinner together!

Woodland Way

Woodland Way

Woodland Way is a great place to reside if you are a dog owner looking for a pup friendly neighborhood. With ample green space, you will never struggle to have a destination in mind when you grab your pooch’s leash and head out for a walk. Mills Park, at the north end of the neighborhood, gives residents and their four legged companions a space to walk, run, and enjoy some fresh air. Another large green space is located between Belview Ave and W Hillcrest Road, but it is advisable to bring a leash in case you are sharing the space with others! Also nearby, on the southern side of the neighborhood, is Oswald Park.

Woodbridge in Hagerstown is a small neighborhood with a younger population. It is a neighborhood found to be popular amongst dog owners as it allows neighbors the opportunity to meet each other and have some puppy play dates and walks around the community! It is also located a quick hop, skip, and a jump away from the very large Ditto Farms Regional Park. With a variety of trails, wide open green space, and lushly covered treed areas, the landscape at this park offers ample opportunity for dog owners, their pups, and their neighborhood friends to gather and spend some quality time together while enjoying the amazing scenery.
