Roberts Mill Run
If you and Fido would like a scenic dog walk, then the Roberts Mill Run neighborhood is the place to go. This is where Roberts Mill Park is located, featuring just under 20 acres of lush, open land. The park is home to a number of different amenities, from sports facilities to a fenced-in playground to picnic pavilions. At the center of the park lies a large pond, which many refer to as the Taneytown Duck Pond, thanks to the large population of ducks, and other animals, that live here. To help you to appreciate the beauty of the bond, there is a lighted walking trail that encircles it, providing for an extremely picturesque walk.

Union Bridge
Just over three miles from Taneytown is the Union Bridge neighborhood of Union Bridge, where you will find a couple of parks worth exploring. The most popular is Little Pipe Creek Park, a beautiful passive park that is known for its walking trail. The trail stretches out for about a mile, and will take you through wetlands, wildflower meadows, and Little Pipe Creek. There is so much wildlife within the park, from deer to the red bellied woodpecker, so be sure to keep your dog on a lead so as not to disrupt these precious natural habitats. If your pooch still needs more exercise, head on over to Bark Hill Park, where you will find 22.3 acres of fields and open green spaces, as well as an open play area.

Pleasant Valley
The neighborhood of Pleasant Valley in Westminster is about five and half miles from Taneytown, and boasts open green areas that would take days to fully explore. The highlight of this neighborhood is the huge Union Mills Reservoir, which sits on over a thousand acres of land that you and Fido can walk through. The best way to see everything is by following the Union Mills Trail. This loop trail stretches out for six and a half miles, showcasing a beautiful vista at the top of a hill. Keep in mind that this is quite a rugged hike, so you and your pup need to be experienced hikers in order to safely walk this trail.

NW Westminster
It takes less than ten minutes to drive from Taneytown to Westminster neighborhood of NoW Westminster, but the journey is worth it thanks to all of the fun your pup will have here. This neighborhood is where Jaycee Park is located, and while this park may sometimes get quite busy, it remains quiet due to its residential locations. The park is home to a basketball court, a baseball diamond, and a tennis court, as well as a tot lot, concession stand, and paved trail for you and Fido to stroll along. Dogs are welcome in this park, but do need to be kept on a lead.

Sullivan Heights
The Sullivan Heights neighborhood in Westminster is about a twelve minute drive from Taneytown, and is the pawfect place to spend a few hours with Fido. This is where you will find the picturesque Westminster Community Pond, which stretches out for 250 acres. The pond is surrounded by a variety of wetlands, mature forests and grassy fields, giving you and your pooch so many diverse landscapes to check out. There is a paved walking path to take you around the grounds, as well as several picnic benches dotted around, all of which provide scenic views of the pond to enjoy alongside your meal.
