In addition to pavilions and gazebos where you and your pup can relax, Watkin's Park has pawfect quaint Sunday stroll oppawtunities; a 1 mile paved walking trail and .25 mile nature rail trail. Tails are waggin' at Watkins Park!

Twin Ridge

The Twin Ridge neighborhood in Mount Airy offers pups a slobbering good time nose diving into plates of yummy bites. Pup-friendly eateries abound here! At Green Turtle Sports Bar, you and Fido can cheer for your favorite sports team while enjoying a brew and a burger out on the large porch. Mamma Angela's, on the other paw, is a the perfect place to enjoy classic pupperoni pizza if you don't mind taking your order to go and eating it on the fur-friendly table outside. If burrito bowls, tacos, and Mexican fusion cuisine is your thing, then California Tortilla has a pup-friendly spot waiting for you and your pup!

Prospect Park

The Prospect Park neighborhood in Mount Airy is another wooftacular area to visit with Fido on leash, thanks its lively Prospect Avenue Park. You and your pup are welcome to have a grill out and picnic at the park's 14 picnic tables, or rest in the shade at the park's large pavilion. Fill up your water bottle at the park's convenient public drinking fountain to stay hydrated on a hot summer day. Whether you want to enjoy the lush greenery of Mount Airy, meet some of the friendly community members, or just take a peaceful stroll with your pup on its winding walking path, the Prospect Ave Park has something for everyone and everypup.

Catochin View

The Catochin View neighborhood in Mount Airy offers pups and their owners the great outdoors at the furrific Old National Pike District Park. This park has pawlenty to offer your pup, such as multipurpose sports fields, puptastic playgrounds, grills, picnic shelters and tables, and most of all, a wooftacular wooded trail that cuts through the park! Leash up Fido and go for a walk on the scenic trails. The park also comes equipped with a watering station and waste bags especially for doggoes, so make sure to advantage of the pawtastic services available here. Park rangers stroll the park, so it's best to always keep your pup leashed, per park rules.

Paddocks

The remote Paddocks neighborhood in Mount Airy features an adrenaline activity only for adventurous pups, as this is where you'll find the Gillis Falls Trail! This trail is designed with explorers in mind, meaning you should be careful to not get lost without the aid of a GPS or a map. Among the unmarked trails are several stream crossings (you might get wet!) and natural terrain. Most of the loop is flat, but offers a steep challenge at the end. Although very rustic, you will no doubt encounter other hikers and horse riders, so make sure to keep Fido leashed for his safety.
