Steep Falls is a small village set in the western corner of the town of Standish. The Saco River runs through this small Maine town that was developed in 1750, and Steep Falls was named after its prized waterfall. Although the waterfall only drops 6 feet, it is one of the state’s top-volume falls, which brings visitors from miles around to sunbathe on its sandy shores. With one veterinarian in this small village, your pup can feel safe in Steep Falls.

Take your pup to one of the parks found in this area for a pawrific day out. Memorial Park is geared for sports participants, although dogs can have some off-leash fun on the park’s fenced sports fields between games. The park’s new dog park will open soon on ¾ acres of land, and will featuring a hand-pump water station, trees and benches.  Memorial Park offers porta-potties, and requests that all dogs be on-leash and cleaned up after. The Boundary Road Ballfield is a fenced sports field where Fido can have some off-leash supervised fun. Lastly, there is 3,971-acre Steep Falls Wildlife Management Area which is perfect for you and your pup to enjoy nature.
