For some pawsome dog friendly eateries, be sure to visit Ely! Here you can drop by 2 Gringo’s Tex-Mex Grill and get your paws into some delicious food, such as nachos, enchiladas and fajitas. There are also four outdoor tables where you can sit with your pooch. At Dairy Queen, you can dig into some dessert and order your beloved companion a Pup Cup! For comfortable accommodation when you are in Ely, stay at the Adventure Inn. Here you are welcome to bring two pups of any size to stay for a small additional fee per night.

Soudan

Just 19 miles west of Ely, you will find the puptown of Soudan! Here you can bring your canine to have some fun at the Lake Vermillion Soudan Underground Mine State Park. Admire the largest recreational lake in Minnesota, with miles of sniff-tastic trails that you can explore with your beloved companion. In addition, you have the oppawtunity to fish here, as well as relax at the picnic shelters and camp underneath the stars. Of course, don’t forget to check out the state’s oldest iron ore mine! All furry friends are welcome, as long as he or she remains on leash during your visit.

Tower

For a puptastic day out with your pup, head 21 miles from Ely west to the puptown of Tower! Here you will find the pawsome Tower Park where your canine can enjoy some exercise and playtime. There is lots of open space where you can enjoy a game of fetch with your canine, as well as a sniff-tastic walking trail you can follow. If you get hungry, head on over to the Good Ol’ Days Bar and Grill for a bite to eat! Dig into some burgers, pizza, sandwiches and wraps for lunch or dinner at the outdoor tables that are dog friendly.

Southwest Tower

Every pooch loves a trip to the park, so if doggo has been a good boy or girl, why not make a trip to Tower Wayside Park? This is near to Ely in the puptown of Tower, and offers some grass for your canine to explore, as well as some woods to investigate. You can go on a sniff-tastic walk here with your furry friend for some exercise, but since this park is next to a road, just be sure your canine has good recall or stays on leash. In addition, don’t forget to bring some fresh water for your beloved companion when it is hot outside.

Southwest Ely

To go on an adventure with your canine, head to the Bear Head Lake State Park when you are in Ely! Here there are some sniff-tastic trails that you and your pooch will love through the woodlands and around the lake. In addition, there are some pawsome amenities here, such as restroom facilities, RV campsites, boating and canoeing. Of course, this puptastic place is home to lots of wildlife. Be sure to take the oppawtunity to see moose, eagles and other animals in their natural environment! All pups can be top dog here, as long as he or she remains on leash during your visit to Bear Head Lake State Park.
