Davidson River/ Penrose
With all the furrific outdoor activities in Pisgah Forest, you and your pooch are bound to get tired and hungry. That is why you should head to Dolly’s Dairy Bar. This is the perfect place to sit back and relax with a frozen treat! There are even rocking chairs on the porch where you can sit with your pup while you eat. If you and your pup want to rough it when visiting Pisgah Forest, you can camp out under the stars at the Davidson River Campground. Here furry friends are welcome to join you, as long as they remain on leash. Just be sure to check pet restrictions before your trip.

Little River/ Pisgah Shadows
To enjoy the outdoors and some exercise with your beloved companion, head to the Hooker Falls Trail! This is a pawsome place in DuPont State Forest where you can explore nature with your pooch. The sniff-tastic trail is around 0.75 miles and is classed as easy, which means it is suitable for all fitness levels. Enjoy investigating the forest with your pup, as long as he stays on leash. Another great place to hike in DuPoint State Forest is the Cedar Rock Trail. This is around 2.75 miles long, which makes a great 1.5 hour trek with your furry friend, and will take you past picturesque waterfalls.

Ducktown/ Ecusta
Just next door to Pisgah Forest, you will find the puptown of Brevard. This is a pawsome place to visit for the day with your furry friend since it is home to the Cat Gap Loop! This is a five mile sniff-tastic trail that is classed as an easy hike. You can explore along rivers and cascades, where your pooch is sure to love all of the new scents and sights of nature! There is the oppawtunity to hunt on the Cat Gap Loop if you enjoy the sport. All beloved companions can be top dog here, as long as they remain on leash.

Brevard City Center/ Brevard College
In the puptown of Brevard, just next door to Pisgah Forest, you will find some furrific dog friendly places to eat! To experience an Irish pub, head to Dugan’s Pub, which serves up some delicious meals, such as Guinness meatloaf, and fish and chips. In addition, you can also choose from a range of beers on tap! Your pooch is welcome to join you out on the patio while you eat. To step back in time and have some fun, check out Rocky’s Grill & Soda Shop. Here you can enjoy an old-school soda fountain, as well as a host of tasty meals. Plus, four-legged friends can sit at one of the outdoor tables with you.

Etowah
Right next to Pisgah Forestis the town of Mills River. This can be a pawsome place to stay for the night since there aren’t many dog friendly hotels to choose from in Pisgah. Check into the Etowah Valley Golf & Resort, which welcomes two pups of any size for a small additional fee per night. If you get hungry, head to the Old Etowah Smokehouse for some tasty grub. You can choose from beef, ribs, sandwiches and other barbecue dishes that are sure to satisfy your growling stomach.
